Addressing the rally, Rahul Gandhi said, 'For the past ten years we have been running a government (at the Centre) for the poor in the country and we could bring about 15 crore people out of poverty line. We initiated a politics to grant rights and respect to the people by way of right to job, right to food and right to education.'

Talking about the pro-poor schemes launched by Congress state government in Rajasthan in the previous term, Rahul Gandhi said, ' the BJP government here will also try to stop the pro-people policies launched by us like free-medicines and pension. Their efforts will be to run a pro-rich, pro-business government. But we will wage a strong battle; we will fight for Metro project, free-medicine schemes.
