You have more industries. Maharashtra develops fast because of its people. They work hard and your leaders are not wasting time on marketing.'
'In the last ten years of the rule of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, about 14 crore people could come out of the poverty. We could accomplish this historic achievement with the help of our policies like MNREGA, Food Security Act, loan-waiving scheme and by providing maximum MSP for farmers' crops. At present, there is a new class emerging - just above the BPL line but below the middle class. Our focus now will be to take this new group to the middle class category.' he said.
Rahul Gandhi also mentioned that everyone is talking about India becoming super power. But India cannot be a super power until we ensure that the 50% of our population -- the women- is empowered.

Linking women to banks and providing them access to credit would be another priority he said because India cannot be a superpower if it did not empower women who form 50 percent of the population. He assured the youth of the state that in the coming months millions of jobs would be created with the building of the dedicated industrial corridors with road and rail connectivity.

Rahul Gandhi said that like 2004 and 2009, the NDA's 'gas balloon' would burst again while informing that the UPA government did remarkably well, as the BJP talked divisive politics. Ahead of every general election, the NDA and BJP come out with a new campaign balloon. They had prepared an 'India Shining' balloon in 2004. But when the ballot boxes were opened, BJP came to know that the poor in our country burst that balloon.
Normally filmmakers produce series of a successful movie like 'Dhoom'. Similarly BJP made yet another series of India Shining in 2009. But they did not understand that that was already a failed one; but they went ahead with it. Again when the election was over that balloon also was burst. Now, in 2014 also, BJP and NDA are ready with another new big balloon, called Gujarat Model.' said Rahul Gandhi
Ridiculing BJP's Gujarat model of development, he said, 'Bihar needs its own model of development and not any other model from outside.'There is no problem with this state. What we have to is just to empower its people. I know there are some issues with irrigation here and I assure you that we will definitely find a solution to it when we come back to power.' Demolishing the myth of prosperity and job creation in Gujarat, Rahul Gandhi dubbed the state's growth model as a 'toffee model' where only a few big industrialists exponentially increase their wealth at the expense of the common man and weaker sections of the society, who continue to languish behind.
'In Gujarat, a piece of land as big as the urban area of Aurangabad was given to an industrialist by the Gujarat government for one rupee per square meter. In one rupee, you get toffee, not land. This is not Gujarat model, this is a toffee model,' he said at a massive public rally in Latur adding that only a few industrialists have prospered under the Narendra Modi led Gujarat government.
Rahul Gandhi also dismissed claims of job creation and poverty reduction in the state and highlighted that a model which favours only the rich cannot work for India. 'The BJP says that the Gujarat model has created jobs for the youth. Recently, Gujarat government opened up 1,500 jobs at a salary of merely Rs. 5,000 per month. 8.5 lakh youth lined up for those jobs. If they gave employment, why are 560 people turning up for one job.' he said adding that under this model neither farmers and the poor benefit, nor the small and medium enterprises.
