Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Deoli, Rajasthan on March 10, 2014.
Addressing the rally, Rahul Gandhi said, 'For the past ten years we have been running a government (at the Centre) for the poor in the country and we could bring about 15 crore people out of poverty line. We initiated a politics to grant rights and respect to the people by way of right to job, right to food and right to education.'
Talking about the pro-poor schemes launched by Congress state government in Rajasthan in the previous term, Rahul Gandhi said, ' the BJP government here will also try to stop the pro-people policies launched by us like free-medicines and pension. Their efforts will be to run a pro-rich, pro-business government. But we will wage a strong battle; we will fight for Metro project, free-medicine schemes. We will do so as Congress wants a government that works for the poor and downtrodden', said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Meghalaya on March 18, 2014. Rahul Gandhi stressed on women empowerment during his second leg of election campaign in the Northeast. 'We should take lessons from Meghalya on how to respect women,' Rahul said addressing the rally.
Rahul Gandhi asserted that he, his family and Congress are compassionate for the Northeast and its people. Rahul Gandhi said, 'I went to the protest over the killing of Nido Tania and what happened was a very sad thing.' 'Our party stands for unity among the whole country and that is the idea we stand for. We condemned the incident. The opposition, however, does not agree with our views,' said Rahul Gandhi.
Emphasising on improving connectivity, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the Congress' ambitious plan to connect land-locked Meghalaya through road, rail and air links with the rest of the country.
Underlying the policies of the UPA, Rahul Gandhi said, '14 crore people have derived benefits from the UPA's NREGA and Right to Food Act. We will transform the lives of 70 crore people to ensure they live a proper life of the middle class.' Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, social welfare minister Deborah C Marak, former chief minister Salseng Marak and a host of other Congress leaders were present at the rally, besides Luizinho Faleirio.

It became a state under Rajiv Gandhi. Arunachal Pradesh has come a long way since then. Its literacy was almost zero, now it is almost equal to the national average,' he said.

Addressing the huge turnout, Rahul Gandhi attacked the opposition for mocking the party for the work it has done for the poor people. Speaking amidst an enthusiastic crowd, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the progress that Himachal Pradesh had made with the Congress Party. 'We have increased the supply of drinking water in Dharamshala, enabled successful irrigation work in Una, and set up an industrial area in Kinnaur. The state government has approved Rs. 1700 crore and 62 new industries, which will bring manufacturing jobs for the youth of Himachal,' said Rahul Gandhi. He also spoke about the Himachal-Ladakh tunnel that will enhance connectivity in the region.
Stating that the opposition makes false claims about development of infrastructure, the Rahul Gandhi highlighted that the UPA government made three times the number of roads in five years in comparison to the NDA government for the same period. He also mentioned that the opposition was against statehood for Himachal, but today tries to take the credit for creating the state, a decision that was actually taken by the Congress.
Rahul Gandhi stressed that revamping the education system, to provide better access to higher education opportunities would be a priority for the Congress in Himachal. Already this year, 15 new degree colleges and 4 new medical colleges have been set up in Himachal Pradesh.

He said he believed that every person of India deserves respect, and added that the opposition party treated natives of Uttar Pradesh poorly in Maharashtra, and the Northeastern people in Delhi. 'India is garden of flowers; big, small, different colors. We respect each of these flowers. Our opposition wants only one kind,' Rahul Gandhi said.
