Yogi Adityanath's government has introduced a new policy for the welfare of cows. Under this new policy, you will have to pay for cow shelters. A 0.5% cess will be levied on excised items which couldn't load alcohol apart from the toll tax. Several public sector companies will be used to fund the maintenance, construction of cow shelters across the state.

ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച മന്ത്രിസഭാ തീരുമാനം ഉണ്ടായതായും ഈ വര്‍ഷം തന്നെ 'പശു സെസ്സ്' ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുള്ള നിയമനിര്‍മാണം ഉണ്ടാവുമെന്നുമാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. പശുക്കളുടെ ക്ഷേമത്തിനും സംരക്ഷണത്തിനുമായി ചെലവഴിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് ഈ തുക മദ്യത്തിന്റെ വിലയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം ഈടാക്കുന്നത്.സെസ്സ് ഈടാക്കുന്നതോടെ വിദേശമദ്യത്തിനും ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നിര്‍മിത വിദേശമദ്യത്തിനും വില വര്‍ധിക്കും.

Giving respect to its neighboring states, Himachal Pradesh wants to say that the water cess implemented by the government in the state does not violate any kind of inter-state treaties.The assertion of Punjab and Haryana that Himachal government's decision to impose water cess is against the Inter-State Water Disputes Act, 1956 is not logical as it does not affect the water released to the neighboring states. Himachal CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has said in the assembly today that none of the provisions of this act violates the water rights of neighboring states.
