The second generation of the Tiguan is the first Volkswagen Group SUV to be based on the path-breaking MQB (modular transverse matrix) platform. It improves all of the properties of the Tiguan. The body proportions of the latest Volkswagen SUV are perceptibly sporty, and the design shows charisma from all perspectives. Its weight was also reduced by over 50 kg compared to the previous model. Meanwhile, the amount of space offered in the interior and luggage compartment has taken a gigantic leap forward. The boot volume of the new Tiguan can take on up to 615 litres of cargo (loaded to the back of the rear bench); when the rear seat backrests are folded, its capacity increases to 1,655 litres. This represents a gain of 145 litres..

    The Renault Talisman is poised to play an active part in the renewal and upgrading of Renault's high-end range. Both vehicles will be manufactured at the firm's Douai plant in France.

    Two petrol engines:
    The Energy TCe 150 and Energy TCe 200 units will be exclusively mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission.

    Three diesel engines:
    The Energy dCi 110 unit can be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or to a six-speed dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission.
    The Energy dCi 130 unit will similarly be available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed dual-clutch EDC transmission.
    As in the new Espace, the Energy dCi 160 unit - equipped with twin turbos - will be exclusively mated to a six-speed dual-clutch EDC gearbox.

For the design team, the history of Borgward serves less as a mandate for a specific design than as the basis for transforming the ideals of the company's legendary founder Carl F. W. Borgward. Alongside his expertise in creating ingenious technical solutions, Borgward also possessed a highly refined sense for superb design — as exemplified by models such as the Isabella series.

    Intelligent operating strategies in combination with GPS navigation, online services and an individual driving style enable energy efficiency to be improved even further. In this way, the energy content of the lithium-ion battery (13.2 kWh) can be optimally exploited to achieve an all-electric range of up to 55 kilometres. Thanks to a unique and intelligent charging management system and new DC/DC converters, it only takes around 30 minutes to charge the battery at a public or private terminal.
