સુરતમાં સરકાર દ્વારા ખાનગી શાળામાં લેવામાં આવતી બેફામ ફી પર રોક લગાવતો નિયમ લાગુ કરવામાં આવ્યો હોવા છતાં ખાનગી શાળાના સંચાલકો સરકારનાં નિર્ણયનું પાલન કરી રહ્યાં નથી જેને લઈ વાલીઓ અને ખાનગી શાળાનાં વહીવટી સંચાલકો વિરુદ્ધ છેલ્લા લાંબા સમયથી તકરાર ચાલી રહી છે. અનેકવાર વાલીઓ દ્વારા શાળામાં થતી ફીની લૂંટ સામે વિરોધ પણ કરાયો છે છતાં ખાનગી શાળાની નીતિમાં કોઈ ફેર પડ્યો નથી.
ખાનગી શાળાઓએ વિદ્યાર્થીઓના ભવિષ્ય સાથે ચેડાં કર્યા છે અને વાલીઓને બાનમાં લેવા માટે વિદ્યાર્થીઓનાં પરિણામ અટકાવી દીધા છે. ખાનગી શાળાની આવી મનમાની અને દાદાગીરી સામે હવે વાલીઓ ઉગ્ર લડતના મૂડમાં રસ્તા પર ઊતર્યા છે.
વાલીઓ ગાંધી ચીંધ્યા માર્ગે ખાનગી શાળાના સંચાલકો વિરુદ્ધ અનશન કરી રહ્યા છે. વાલીઓ છેલ્લા 6 દિવસથી સુરતના સિટીલાઇટ ખાતે આવેલા અણુવ્રત દ્વાર પાસે ઉપવાસ પર ઊતર્યા છે. વાલીઓ ખાનગી શાળાની મનમાની વિરુદ્ધ વિરોધ કરી સરકારની આંખ ઉઘાડવાનો પ્રયાસ કરી રહ્યા છે. મહત્ત્વની વાત તો એ છે કે વાલીઓ દ્વારા શરૂ કરાયેલા અનશનનાં 6 દિવસ વીતી ગયા છે પણ કોઈ શૈક્ષણિકતંત્રના અધિકારી કે સરકારના કોઈ પણ નેતા વાલીઓને મળવા આવ્યા નથી. અનશન દરમિયાન એક પુરુષ અને એક મહિલાની તબિયત પણ લથડી છે.

સુરતની શાળાઓમાં મન ફાવે તેમ વસૂલાતી ફી મુદ્દે પેરેન્ટ્સ એસોસિએશને વિરોધ પ્રદર્શન શરૂ કર્યું છે, જેમાં વાલીઓના ઉપવાસના પ્રદર્શનને 10 દિવસ પૂરાં થઈ ગયા છે. તેથી 11મા દિવસે વાલીઓ દ્વારા રેલી કાઢવામાં આવી હતી. જે રેલીને કોંગ્રેસ દ્વારા સમર્થન આપવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
આ રેલીમાં વાલીઓ સાથે કોંગ્રેસના કાર્યકરો બેનરો સાથે જોડાયા હતા. આ રેલી વનિતા વિશ્રામ મેદાનથી સુરત DEOની કચેરી સુધી ગઈ હતી. રેલીમાં 'ભાજપ હાય હાય' અને 'શિક્ષણ મંત્રી હાય હાય'ના નારા લાગ્યા હતા. વધુમાં વાલીઓએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે વિધાનસભાનું ઇલેક્શન જીતવા માટે વાલીઓને ફી નિયમન કાયદાનાં ખોટા વાયદા આપવામાં આવ્યાં હતા. ઇલેક્શન જીત્યા બાદ ફી નિયમન કાયદાનું ચુસ્ત પાલન કરવામાં આવ્યું નથી. જેથી વાલીઓ અને શાળા પ્રશાસન વચ્ચે ઘર્ષણ થાય છે.
શાળા દ્વારા મનફાવે તેમ ફી વસુલાત સાથે દાદાગીરી કરવામાં આવે છે. વિદ્યાર્થીઓના રિઝલ્ટ પર રોક લગાવી વિદ્યાર્થીઓના ભવિષ્ય સાથે ક્રૂર ચેડા કરવામાં આવી રહ્યા છે.
