I feel happy to be here with you but sad too as a great leader like Sisa Ram Ola is not with us today. He was a good leader and Jhunjhunu was his karmbhoomi. I had a good relation with him and whenever we meet, he used to talk about this place. He always fought for you.
Congress wants to work for all sections -- the poor, farmers, weak and the downtrodden. There is big difference between us and the BJP. While we want development for all people without any discrimination, BJP wants it for only a selected group.
In the past 10 years of UPA rule at the Centre, about 15 crore people were freed from poverty. It is not a small achievement. We realise that if we need overall development, entire people must have a voice in the system. Congress never supports any policies which are aimed at development of a handful of people.
We launched a scheme to provide free medicines for the poor. But is the present BJP government is implementing it? No. Congress works for all; unites the people. But BJP works for elite and rich.

Rahul Gandhi pressed the importance of this moment, where we are faced with two visions of India. The Congress vision of an India that belongs to Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Dalit, Aadivasi, men, women, rich, poor -- a country that belongs to all of us. He contrasted this with the BJP's belief system, a fundamental premise of which is - let the poor, the farmer, the small businessman work but the rewards belong to just two or three people. The other foundational pillar of the BJP is the RSS whose leader Golwalkar said that the biggest mistake was to give women the vote. This is the man that Modi has worshiped all his life. The Congress does not believe in divisions but in the fact that we are all India and that our focus has to be manufacturing, being able to produce goods that say Made in Kashipur, Made in Uttarakhand, Made in UP, Made in India. The BJP belief system, which creates battles between Hindus and Muslims can never produce a Made in India. For that we need projects like those that the Congress has already begun - industrial manufacturing corridors that will run from east to west, north to south, that will brings jobs to the youth of Uttarakhand and beyond. It is only initiatives like this and an inclusive vision that can produce labels such as Made in Uttarakhand and Made in India.

'Modi sahab talks about his Gujarat model. What has he done? He deprived the poor farmers of their land to give away 35,000 acre of agricultural land to industrialist Adani at Rs one per metre,' Rahul Gandhi said at an election meeting.
'Adani ji then sold the land at Rs 800 per metre. His industry grew from a Rs 3000 crore company to a Rs 40,000 crore company now just by selling farmers land at high cost and not through production. This he calls the Gujarat model,' Rahul Gandhi said.
He said that people of Gujarat had worked hard for years setting up textile mills and other industries much before the advent of the Modi government, while the Gujarat Chief Minister was claiming that it was because of his efforts.
Talking about the work done by Congress led UPA government, Rahul Gandhi said that the UPA govt. built 3 times more roads in 5 years then the NDA govt. and provided more than twice the electricity provided by NDA. We also gave several rights to the poor people unlike the BJP.

You must ensure that a pro-poor and secular government is formed. We don't need a government that promotes hatred and anger. We don't need a government that makes Hindus fight Muslims. We don't need a government that imposes ideas from one state on to another,' he said.
