എല്‍.ഡി.എഫ്.സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ രണ്ടാം വാര്‍ഷികത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി കാഞ്ഞങ്ങാട് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച പൗരപ്രമുഖരുടെ മുഖാമുഖം പരിപാടിയിലാണ് മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ ഇറക്കിവിട്ടത്. മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ പുറത്താക്കൂ എന്ന മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം അധ്യക്ഷനായ റവന്യൂ മന്ത്രി ഇ.ചന്ദ്രശേഖരന്‍ മൈക്കിലൂടെ അറിയച്ചു. എഴുന്നേറ്റു പോകാന്‍ തയ്യാറാവാത്ത മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരോട് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകാന്‍ സി.പി.എം ജില്ലാ സെക്രട്ടറി എം.വി.ബാലകൃഷ്ണനും ജില്ലാ കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗം വി.വി.രമേശനും ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.

കാല്‍നൂറ്റാണ്ട് നീണ്ട ഇടതു ഭരണത്തിന് ത്രിപുരയില്‍ അവസാനമായതോടെ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏക കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഇനി കേരളത്തില്‍. ഏക മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയനും. മുപ്പതുവര്‍ഷം സിപിഐഎം ഭരിച്ച ബംഗാളിന് പിന്നാലെ ത്രിപുരയും നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നത് സിപിഐഎമ്മിനെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം കനത്ത തിരിച്ചടിയാണ് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ദേശീയ തലത്തില്‍ ബിജെപിക്കെതിരെ പോരാടാനുറച്ച സിപിഎമ്മിന് ത്രിപുരയിലെ പരാജയം ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ച ആഘാതം വളരെ വലുതാണ്.കഴിഞ്ഞ കാല്‍നൂറ്റാണ്ട് ഭരണത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സിപിഐഎമ്മിന് കഴിഞ്ഞ തവണ ലഭിച്ചത് 49 സീറ്റുകളായിരുന്നു. എന്നാലിതിന്ന് 17 സീറ്റിലേക്കാണ് ചുരുങ്ങിയത്.

എ.കെ ശശീന്ദ്രനെതിരായ ഫോണ്‍കെണി വിവാദത്തില്‍ ജസ്റ്റിസ് ആന്റണി കമ്മീഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്യാനെത്തിയ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ക്കാണ് വിലക്കേര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയത്.ഇതിനെതിരെ വിമര്‍ശനങ്ങള്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു.ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ അവരെ അകറ്റി നിര്‍ത്തുന്നത് ജനാധിപത്യ വിരുദ്ധമാണെന്ന് ചെന്നിത്തല പ്രതികരിച്ചു.എന്നാല്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ വിലക്കിയതറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലെന്ന നിലപാടാണ് മുഖ്യന്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചത്
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം സെക്രട്ടേറിയറ്റില്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ തടഞ്ഞുവെന്ന റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ശരിയല്ലെന്നുംപിണറായി.
കമ്മീഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന വേളയില്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം ആവശ്യമില്ലെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ തടയാന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസ് നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ തടഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അക്കാര്യം പരിശോധിക്കും. സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഓഫീസില്‍ അന്വേഷണം നടത്തും. മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ കാണുമ്‌ബോള്‍ മന്ത്രിമാരും പെരുമാറ്റച്ചട്ടം പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് കമ്മീഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ ശിപാര്‍ശ ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്. ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റ് പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ സ്വന്തം സ്വത്തല്ലെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസിന്റെ പ്രീതിയും അപ്രീതിയും നോക്കി മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ കേറുന്നത് തടയാനാകില്ലെന്ും അഭിഭാഷന്‍ ഹരീഷ് വാസുദേവ് വിമര്‍ശിച്ചു
