തോമസ് ചാണ്ടിയുടെ രാജിയ്ക്കു പിന്നാലെ ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പും കൂടി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയ്ക്ക്. ഇതോടെ 29 വകുപ്പുകളാണ് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ കീഴില്‍ വരിക.പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള ഇടതു സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അധികാരത്തിലേറിയപ്പോള്‍ ആഭ്യന്തരമുള്‍പ്പടെയുള്ള സുപ്രധാന വകുപ്പുകളെല്ലാം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഏറ്റെടുത്തിരുന്നു. നിലവില്‍ തോമസ് ചാണ്ടിയുടെ രാജിയോടെ ഗതാഗതം, മോട്ടോര്‍ വാഹനം, ജലഗതാഗതം തുടങ്ങിയ വകുപ്പുകള്‍ കൂടി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. ഇതോടെ മൊത്തം 29 വകുപ്പുകളാണ് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്ക് കീഴില്‍. മുന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിമാരായ ഉമ്മന്‍ ചാണ്ടി 11 വകുപ്പുകളും വി.എസ്.അച്യുതാനന്ദന്‍ 13 വകുപ്പുകളുമാണു ഭരിച്ചിരുന്നത്.

എ.കെ ശശീന്ദ്രനെതിരായ ഫോണ്‍കെണി വിവാദത്തില്‍ ജസ്റ്റിസ് ആന്റണി കമ്മീഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്യാനെത്തിയ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ക്കാണ് വിലക്കേര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയത്.ഇതിനെതിരെ വിമര്‍ശനങ്ങള്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു.ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ അവരെ അകറ്റി നിര്‍ത്തുന്നത് ജനാധിപത്യ വിരുദ്ധമാണെന്ന് ചെന്നിത്തല പ്രതികരിച്ചു.എന്നാല്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ വിലക്കിയതറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലെന്ന നിലപാടാണ് മുഖ്യന്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചത്
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം സെക്രട്ടേറിയറ്റില്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ തടഞ്ഞുവെന്ന റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ശരിയല്ലെന്നുംപിണറായി.
കമ്മീഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന വേളയില്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം ആവശ്യമില്ലെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ തടയാന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസ് നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ തടഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അക്കാര്യം പരിശോധിക്കും. സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഓഫീസില്‍ അന്വേഷണം നടത്തും. മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ കാണുമ്‌ബോള്‍ മന്ത്രിമാരും പെരുമാറ്റച്ചട്ടം പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് കമ്മീഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ ശിപാര്‍ശ ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്. ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റ് പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ സ്വന്തം സ്വത്തല്ലെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസിന്റെ പ്രീതിയും അപ്രീതിയും നോക്കി മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ കേറുന്നത് തടയാനാകില്ലെന്ും അഭിഭാഷന്‍ ഹരീഷ് വാസുദേവ് വിമര്‍ശിച്ചു
