    Australia got off to a flying start and scored from their first penalty corner in the 4th minute with Kieran Govers blasting home from the top of the circle. It was another penalty corner from which the 2-0 goal was scored; this time Jeremy Hayward finishing for the Kookaburras. Jacob Whetton then scored a fantastic solo goal in the 33rd minute to send Australia up 3-0 going into the break.

    Australia continued their dominance in the second half and another penalty corner produced the fourth goal, this time scored by Chris Ciriello. Shortly after, Jeremy Hayward got his second goal of the game to put the Aussies 5-0 up. Argentina pulled the score back to 5-1 in the 58th minute when Gonzalo Peillat struck a ferocious shot in from a penalty corner. However, the four goal deficit was too much to overcome and Australia sailed into the final to play the Netherlands.

Ciriello completed his hat-trick in the 53rd minute as dominant Australia extended their lead to 5-1. The Netherlands found themselves 6-1 down with six minutes to go after a brilliant run and finish by Jamie Dwyer. Australia successfully defended their title and became world champions.

    Korea made a strong start and made it 1-0 in the 7th minute when Cheon Eunbi was found completely open in front of goal and finished with ease. It took only 5 mins for Australia to equal the score at 1-1 after some great skill and pass from Georgie Parker to Emily Hurtz who finished neatly. Australia then weathered 4 straight Korea penalty corners to reach half time with the score tied.

    The second half had a more settled start, but Australia started to dominate and made it 2-1 when Anna Flanagan converted from a penalty corner. 12 minutes later, Australia was awarded a penalty stroke and Flanagan scored her 2nd of the game to extend the Hockeyroos' lead to 3-1. Cheon Seul Ki ensured it was a nervy finish for Australia by making it 3-2 with 7 minutes to go but Australia held on to secure their first win of the tournament.

    The first half started in the favour of Japan when they took the lead when Akane Shibata made a run to the D and her pass was met by Hazuki Nagal who slotted the ball in the net giving Japan the early lead. However a resilient Australia did not let Japan hold on to the lead and when Anna Flanagen was awarded a Penalty Corner, she made sure it count, with a low drag flick and before the break the Hockey-Roo's levelled the scores.

    The 2nd half, and Australia started off brightly and this was shown when Jane Claxton made a run to the D and her pass was met but Emily Smith who slotted the ball in the net putting Australia 2-1. Japan managed to create some chances but when a Penalty Corner was awarded to Australia, Flanagan was on hand again to extend her nation's lead with a thunderbolt of a shot, 3-1 Australia. However Japan was given a life line when a Penalty Corner was deemed to have been blocked by the legs of Jodie Kenny, and after a video referral the referee deemed it a foul and Japan a Penalty Stroke. Taken by Shiho Sakal, she converted her chance, and it was 3-2 and game on. Australia looked likely to get the next goal and came close when they were awarded another Penalty Corner, but this time the dragflick came from Kenny, but her shot was superbly saved by Ryoko Ole, and this was last chance on the game, 3-2 on the d

    The first half and it was advantage Australia when they converted an early chance supplied by Turner to Tim Deavin to put 1-0 Australia. It was pretty much Australia at this point on the attack and were later awarded a Penalty Stroke when an Australian Penalty Corner was superbly saved by Quico Cortes, but the ball hit off the body of Bosco Perez-Pla, and referee, after Spain asked for a referral, awarded a Penalty Stroke. Captain Mark Knowles was on hand to convert it. Australia continued their attack and was again awarded another Penalty Stroke when the ball came off the foot of Ramon Alegre, and Spain was unable to use their Video Referral as it was used for the previous penalty stroke. It was soon 3-0 to Australia when a Penalty Corner was converted in and it was Kieran Govers, who was the man that drag-flicked the ball in the net before the break.

    2nd Half, and scores remained as it was but Australia managed to conjure up a couple of chance and came very close when Graham Tuner received the ball in the D but his shot went wide of the post. Australia had another chance to extend their lead when Jacob Whetton took the ball round the keeper but the angle was too tight and his shot went wide. Spain did create some chances after the break but it would Australia taking the point's home, 3-0.
