തൃശൂരില്‍ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം പടരുന്നു! ആശങ്കകളോടെ ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ്
തൃശൂര്‍ ജില്ലയില്‍ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം പടരുന്നതായി ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ്. ഒരു വര്‍ഷത്തിനിടെ 70 പേരിലാണ് കുഷ്ഠരോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചത്. രോഗനിര്‍ണയത്തിനും ബോധവവല്‍ക്കരണത്തിനുമായി അടുത്ത മാസം മുതല്‍ ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് പ്രത്യേക പരിപാടികള്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കും.
തൃശൂര്‍ ജില്ലയില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ ആറ് മാസത്തിനിടെ 36 പേരിലാണ് കുഷ്ഠരോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചത്.ഇതില്‍ 7 പേര്‍ കുട്ടികളാണ്. 14 പേര്‍ ഇതരസംസ്ഥാന തൊഴിലാളികളാണ്. രോഗം കണ്ടെത്തിയവയില്‍ ഏറെയും പകര്‍ച്ചാസാധ്യതയുളളതാണെന്നത് ആശങ്ക വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.രോഗാണുവാഹകരെ കണ്ടെത്തി പൂര്‍ണമായി ചികിത്സിച്ചു മാറ്റാനാകാത്തതിനാല്‍ രോഗം ബാധിക്കുന്നവരുടെ എണ്ണം ഓരോ വര്‍ഷവും കൂടുകയാണ്.കുട്ടികളില്‍ നടത്തിയ സര്‍വ്വേയില്‍ കുഷ്ഠരോഗബാധിതരുടെ എണ്ണം കുത്തനെ വര്‍ദ്ധിക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടെത്തി.ബാക്ടീരിയ വഴിയുളള കുഷ്ഠരോഗം വായുവിലൂടെയാണ് പകരുക. രോഗം കണ്ടെത്താൻ അടുതത മാസം 5 മുതല്‍ 18 വരെ ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് അശ്വമേധം എന്ന പേരില്‍ ഗൃഹസമ്പര്‍ക്ക പരിപാടി സംഘടിപ്പിക്കും.ഇതിനായി ആരോഗ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്ക് പ്രത്യേക പരിശീലനം നല്‍കുമെന്നും ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു

കുഷ്ഠ രോഗം തിരികെ വരുന്നു മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര ഭീതിയില്‍
മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയില്‍ കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളുടെ എണ്ണം പെരുകുന്നതായി റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. ഈ വര്‍ഷം മാത്രം സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടത് 5004 കുഷ്ഠരോഗ കേസുകളാണ്. ഇതില്‍തന്നെ 41% പേര്‍ ഗുരുതരമായ രീതിയില്‍ രോഗം ബാധിച്ചവരാണ്.
ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളുള്ളത് പാല്‍ഘട്ടിലാണ്.
514 പേര്‍ക്കാണ് ഇവിടെ രോഗം ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് 345 രോഗികളുമായി ഗട്ചിരോളിയാണ് തൊട്ട് പുറകില്‍ .തീവ്രമായ രീതിയില്‍ രോഗം ബാധിച്ചവരില്‍ 11 % പേര്‍ കുട്ടികളാണ്.
കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളിലെ മള്‍ട്ടി ബാസിലറി കേസുകള്‍ മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയില്‍ വളരെ കൂടുതലാണെന്നും റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകളുണ്ട്. മള്‍ട്ടി ബാസിലറി ബാധിച്ച രോഗബാധിതരില്‍ ബാക്ടീരിയകളുടെ എണ്ണം കൂടുതലായിരിക്കും. മാത്രമല്ല രോഗം മറ്റുള്ളവരിലേക്ക് പടരാനുള്ള സാധ്യതയും ഇത്തരക്കരില്‍ വളരെ കൂടുതലായിരിക്കും.
2017 സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 5നും 20നുമിടയ്ക്കും സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നടത്തിയ സര്‍വ്വെയിലാണ് കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ വിവരം ലഭിച്ചത്. 22 ജില്ലകളിലായി 4 കോടി ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയിലാണ് സര്‍വ്വെ നടത്തിയത്.
ലോകാരോഗ്യസംഘടനയുടെ അഭിപ്രായത്തില്‍ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം പകരുന്നത് എങ്ങനെയെന്ന് ഏറ്റവും കൃത്യമായ വിധത്തില്‍ ഇനിയും തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല

ജാഗ്രതൈ! കേരളത്തില്‍ കുട്ടികളില്‍ കുഷ്ഠ രോഗം
2016-17-ൽ 36 കുട്ടികളിലും കഴിഞ്ഞവർഷം 49 കുട്ടികളിലുമാണ് പുതുതായി രോഗബാധ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്
കേരളത്തിൽ ഈ വർഷം ഇതുവരെ പുതുതായി കണ്ടെത്തിയ 273 കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളിൽ 21 പേർ കുട്ടികളാണെന്നു റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ .കേരളത്തിലെ കുട്ടികൾക്കിടയിലെ രോഗബാധ ദേശീയ ശരാശരിയെക്കാൾ കൂടുതലാണെന്ന് ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രി മന്ത്രി കെ.കെ. ശൈലജ പറഞ്ഞു. ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ഡിസംബർ അഞ്ചുമുതൽ രണ്ടാഴ്ച വീടുകൾ സന്ദർശിച്ച് പരിശോധന നടത്തുമെന്നും മന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.കൂടുതൽ രോഗികളെ കണ്ടെത്തിയ എട്ട് ജില്ലകളിലാണ് പരിശോധന. ഒരു ആശാവർക്കറും ഒരു പുരുഷ വൊളന്റിയറും വീടുകളിലെത്തി പരിശോധിക്കും. രോഗബാധ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നവർക്ക് ചികിത്സ നൽകും. തിരുവനന്തപുരം, എറണാകുളം, തൃശ്ശൂർ, പാലക്കാട്, മലപ്പുറം, കോഴിക്കോട്, കണ്ണൂർ, കാസർകോട് ജില്ലകളിലാണ് പരിശോധന.
2005-ൽ രാജ്യത്ത് കുഷ്ഠരോഗം നിവാരണം ചെയ്തതായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്നു. രോഗികളുടെ എണ്ണം പതിനായിരത്തിൽ ഒന്നിൽത്താഴെ മാത്രമാകുമ്പോഴാണ് രോഗം നിവാരണം ചെയ്തതായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നത്. ഇപ്പോൾ കേരളത്തിൽ രോഗം കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത് പതിനായിരത്തിൽ 0.2 പേരിലാണ്. ഏതാനും വർഷങ്ങളായി ഈ നിരക്കിൽ മാറ്റമില്ല.
ഈ വർഷം ഏപ്രിൽ മുതൽ സെപ്റ്റംബർവരെ 21 കുട്ടികളിൽ പുതുതായി രോഗബാധ കണ്ടെത്തി.രോഗബാധ കൊണ്ട് പ്രകടമായ വൈകല്യങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായശേഷം മാത്രം ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി എത്തുന്നവരുടെ എണ്ണവും കേരളത്തിൽ കൂടുന്നുണ്ട്. പകർച്ചശേഷിയുള്ള വിഭാഗമായ ശേഷമാണ് 60-70 ശതമാനം രോഗബാധയും സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് കണ്ടെത്താനാവുന്നത്.

രാജ്യത്ത് 2005-ൽ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം നിവാരണം ചെയ്തതായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചെങ്കിലും വിലക്കുകൾ നിലവിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു
പൊതുസ്ഥലങ്ങളും പൊതു വാഹനങ്ങളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിനും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽ പോകാനും കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന വിലക്കുകൾ നീങ്ങുകയാണ്
കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളോടുള്ള വിവേചനത്തിന് വഴിയൊരുക്കുന്ന സംസ്ഥാന നിയമങ്ങൾ പുനഃപരിശോധിക്കാൻ എല്ലാ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളോടും സുപ്രീംകോടതി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഇതേ തുടര്‍ന്ന് പൊതുജനാരോഗ്യ നിയമം അടക്കം സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് നിലവിലുള്ള മൂന്ന് നിയമങ്ങളും നാല് ചട്ടങ്ങളും ഭേദഗതി ചെയ്യാൻ നിയമപരിഷ്കരണ കമ്മിഷൻ സർക്കാരിന് നിർദേശം നല്കി.
ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ സ്വീകരിച്ച തുടർനടപടികൾ അറിയിക്കാൻ സുപ്രീംകോടതി സർക്കാരിനോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. നിയമഭേദഗതി ആവശ്യമായ മൂന്നു കരടുബില്ലുകൾ നിയമസഭയുടെ പരിഗണനയ്ക്ക് വിടാനാണ് സർക്കാർ ആലോചന. ചട്ടഭേദഗതി ആവശ്യമായവ സർക്കാരിന് നേരിട്ട് ചെയ്യാനാകും.നിലവിലുള്ള രോഗസാഹചര്യവും ആധുനിക ചികിത്സാസൗകര്യവും കണക്കിലെടുത്താൽ വിവേചനത്തിന് പ്രസക്തിയില്ല. നിയമത്തിന്റെ പിൻബലത്തോടെയുള്ള ഇത്തരം വിവേചനവും അയോഗ്യതയും അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാൻ തുടർനടപടികൾക്കാവുമെന്ന് കരുതുന്നുവെന്നാണ് നിയമപരിഷ്കരണ കമ്മിഷൻ അംഗം പറയുന്നത്‌.കണക്കുകളനുസരിച്ച് രാജ്യത്ത് കുഷ്ഠരോഗം നിവാരണം ചെയ്തെങ്കിലും രോഗികളുടെ എണ്ണം കൂടുന്നതായി ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പുതന്നെ അടുത്തിടെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി.

ഇതില്‍ 14 പേര്‍ കുട്ടികളാണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ച 273 രോഗികള്‍ക്ക് പുറമേയാണിത്. കുഷ്ഠരോഗം ബാധിച്ചവരുടെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ വലിയ വര്‍ധന ഉണ്ടായതിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് വീടുകള്‍ കയറിയുള്ള പരിശോധന നടത്താൻ ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് തീരുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നു. മൂന്നാഴ്ച കൊണ്ട് നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിലാണ് 140പേര്‍ക്കുകൂടി രോഗം കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.
ഇതില്‍ 121 പേര്‍ക്ക് പകര്‍ച്ചശേഷി കൂടുതലുള്ള കുഷ്ഠരോഗമാണ്. രോഗം കണ്ടെത്തിയ 14 കുട്ടികളില്‍ നാല് പേര്‍ക്കും പകര്‍ച്ചശേഷി കൂടുതലുള്ള കുഷ്ഠരോഗമാണ് കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.
പുതിയതായി കണ്ടെത്തിയ രോഗികളില്‍ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ പേര്‍ പാലക്കാടാണ്.
ഇവിടെ 50പേര്‍ക്കാണ് രോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചത്. മലപ്പുറത്ത് 25 ഉം തൃശൂരില്‍ 15 ഉം കണ്ണൂരില്‍ 14ഉം എറണാകുളത്തും തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തും10 പേര്‍ക്ക് വീതവും കോഴിക്കോട് ഏഴും കാസര്‍കോഡ് നാല് പേര്‍ക്കും രോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.നിലവില്‍ എട്ട് ജില്ലകളിൽ മാത്രമാണ് വീടുകള്‍ കയറിയുള്ള പരിശോധന നടത്തിയത്. മറ്റു ജില്ലകളിലേക്ക് കൂടി പരിശോധന വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കണമെന്നാണ് ആവശ്യം.
ഇതിനായി സംസ്ഥാന ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ ലെപ്രസി ഡിവിഷനെ സമീപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
