Kangra/Himachal Pradesh: There is continuous deaths of migratory birds in Pong lake of district Kangra. So far more than 600 migratory birds have been found dead at different places in Pong lake. DC Kangra Rakesh Prajapati has banned all activities in Pong lake till further orders. One kilometer area of Pong lake has been declared as alert zone. Any kind of human activitities and animals grazing is strictly prohibited in this area. The next nine kilometers of the alert zone have been made the surveillance zone. The department will keep a close watch in this area. All kinds of tourism activities have also been banned in Pong Dam. Police forces have been deployed along the banks of Pong Lake. If a person defies the rules, action will be taken against them.

Alert has been issued in four sub-divisions of Kangra after the confirmation of bird flu. At the same time, Pong Lake has also been sealed. Chicken, egg and fish shops in Dehra, Jawali, Fatehpur and Indora subdivisions will be closed from now on. Every movement has been banned in Pong lake. Meanwhile, the administration has taken a strong step and has decided to impose a penalty of 50,000 rupees for those who disobey orders. Legal action will be accompanied by a fine of fifty thousand on abolition of orders of the administration.
