Her starry-eyed daughter Sydney, 23, reached out to Weiner on Facebook right after he quit Congress in June 2011 — and ended up in an Internet affair that involved kinky messaging, steamy phone sex and mutual declarations of love.
Sydney Leathers, who lives in sleepy Princeton, Ind. — one mouse click and 850 miles away from Weiner — was in hiding Wednesday, after she was outed by the website The Dirty as Weiner's latest sexting partner.Using the name 'Carlos Danger,' Weiner carried on with her for several months, beginning in July 2012, more than a year after he resigned from Congress for similar behavior. Weiner on Tuesday admitted to the relationship, but said it had ended and that he had — once again — finally put his sexting ways behind him.
On Wednesday, his campaign said it wasn't Weiner's only new virtual liaison. Weiner chatted up multiple women online after leaving Congress, his spokeswoman said. It was not immediately clear how many women were involved and how Weiner interacted with them.

For a brief moment this summer, it appeared that Anthony Weiner would be the man to beat in the New York mayoral race.
Instead, of course, a young woman from Indiana named Sydney Leathers stepped forward with explosive revelations about the Democrat's online behavior, and within weeks, his mayoral dream was toast.
Tuesday evening, as it became clear that Leathers would try to confront the sexting partner she had never met, on the night he was conceding defeat, reporters assembled outside of Connolly's, the kind of nondescript midtown bar where New Yorkers might watch a football game or drown a sorrow.
When Leathers arrived, clad in a form-fitting dress showcasing her recent surgical enhancements, the scrum of reporters pounced.
'Why are you here?' she was asked. 'I feel like it's my obligation,' she replied.

Anthony Weiner, who's been polling in the mid-single digits in today New York City's Democratic mayoral primary, is having his 'victory' party tonight at an Irish pub in Midtown Manhattan. And Sydney Leathers, the Las Vegas woman with whom he had been sexting, showed up, to the campaign's chagrin.

Asked about her 15 minutes of fame, Leathers responded 'it's going to be a lot more than 15 minutes.'
There was a crush of reporters around her, including our own Walter Hickey. The press is much more interested in Leathers than in Weiner.
The man in the ugly, ill-fitting shirt next to her is Adam Barta, an actor and dance musician from the Bronx. According to Wikipedia, 'He is also widely known for... over the top music videos featuring various reality stars and media personalities such as Octomom, Tan Mom and Lisa Lampanelli.' Outside a 'victory' party where supporters mourned a disappointing fifth-place finish in the Democratic primary, cameras crowded around Leathers, the 23-year-old whose sexting with the former congressman brought his once-high-flying campaign to a screeching halt.
'Why not be here?' Leathers asked reporters. 'I'm kind of the reason he's losing. So, might as well show up.'
Leathers, who has launched a porn career since the scandal broke, said Weiner needed 'to stop being an embarrassment to the city of New York. He's going to continue this behavior. If it's not going to be me, it's going to be some other girl.'
At one point, one of Weiner's supporters scolded Leathers, saying: 'You must really be ashamed!'
If she was, she did not look it, poured as she was into a tight fitting red dress.

On Tuesday night, one of Weiner's former sexting partners, Sydney Leathers showed up at Anthony Weiner's primary party in Midtown.
When asked about the surprise appearance, Leathers said, 'I mean, why not be here? I'm kind of the reason why he is losing.'
When Weiner entered the mayoral race, there was thought he may have a shot despite having to resign from Congress amid a sexting scandal.
In the middle of the campaign, Weiner confirmed he continued sexting long after he resigned from Congress, and warned the public that someone like Leathers would come forward, which she did.
'I have a lot of things that I want to say to him, I guess it depends on whether it would be public or private, but he needs to stop being an embarrassment to the city of New York,' says Leathers, 'he should have dropped out of the race a long time ago.'
Leathers insisted that Weiner should focus on getting sex therapy instead of running for public office.
If Weiner were to ever run for political office again, Leathers said she would show up again.
'Of course, why not? He's going to continue this behavior. If it is not me, it is going to be another,' Leathers says.
