This drinking water project would benefit more than 23 lakh people from nine towns and about 900 villages of Nagaur district. 'Water has an important role in our life. Everyone needs water; whether it is the people, animals, or factories. Usage is high but availability is not sufficient. The quality also comes down. The state government here has been taking all possible measures to tackle this issue. They also have initiated several new water projects by which more than 100 towns and 18000 villages will be benefitted and they will be no more dependent on ground water' said Sonia Gandhi..

As we hold the responsibility as a Government at the Centre, the state government also has some responsibility. I want to ask the BJP government here why have not the government increase the limit of LPG cylinders to a family from 6 to 9. This is what our Congress government has done in the states ruled by us. Why has the Karnataka Government not reduced the VAT on diesel, just like our Congress led governments have done? So it is very easy to criticize others but what about you (the state government), what are you doing to reduce the hardships of your people? It is your (state government’s) responsibility as much as ours†said Sonia Gandhi.
