Representatives of several Kashmiri Pandit organisations today met Dineshwar Sharma, the Centre's special representative for Kashmir, and sought the setting up of an institutional mechanism for the welfare of the displaced community.
Sharma, who was appointed the Centre's point person on Jammu and Kashmir last month, began the second leg of his visit to the state and reached Jammu last evening to hold consultations with various groups and political parties.
He called on Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti last night and discussed ways to reach out to the stakeholders in the state, officials said.

The Centre's special representative for Jammu and Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma, today said he would try to meet separatist leaders as part of government's efforts to resolve the issues facing the state through a sustained dialogue.
He is on a five-day visit to the state and will spend two days in Jammu where he will hold talks with Governor N N Vohra, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and various delegations.
'I will try my best,' Sharma told reporters when asked if he would go an extra mile to meet the Hurriyat Conference leaders.

Dineshwar Sharma, the Centre's special representative for Kashmir, today said all Indian citizens in Jammu and Kashmir were 'stakeholders' in the dialogue process and that he would keep coming to the state in the future.
Sharma, who arrived here last evening on the second leg of his visit to J&K, said the Centre had given him the task to restore peace in Kashmir and find some solution.
Asked whether he considered the Hurriyat Conference a stakeholder in the dialogue process, he said, 'All Indian citizens in Jammu and Kashmir are stakeholders.'
