એક તરફ જ્યાં ખેડૂતો સિંચાઈ માટે તંત્ર પાસેથી પાણીની માગ કરી રહ્યા છે ત્યારે બીજી તરફ નર્મદાની મુખ્ય કેનાલમાંથી માઇનોર કેનલોમાં પાણી તો છોડાયું પણ તે પાણી ખેતરો સુધી ન પહોંચીને પાણીનો વેડફાટ થવાની ઘટના સામે આવી છે. છોટા ઉદેપુરના ખેડૂતોની માગણીને લઈને તંત્રએ પાણી છોડ્યું પણ તે પાણી ખેતરો સુધી નથી પહોંચ્યું. કારણ કે, કેનાલમાં ગાબડા અને તિરાડ પડી ગયા હોવાથી પાણી ખેતરમાં પહોંચી નથી શકતું. બીજી બાજુ પાણીની અછતને લઈને ખેડૂતોના ઊભા પાકને નુકસાન થઈ રહ્યું છે.
રાજ્ય સરકાર દ્વારા ખેડૂતોને સિંચાઈનો લાભ મળે તે હેતુથી બે દિવસથી નર્મદાની માઈનોર કેનાલ દ્વારા પાણી તો છોડવામાં આવી રહ્યું છે પણ કેનલોમાં પડેલા ગાબડાંને લઈ તેનો વેડફાટ થઈ રહ્યો છે. ખેતરો સુધી તો પાણી નથી પહોંચી રહ્યું પણ કોતરોમાં મોટા પ્રમાણમાં પાણી વહી રહ્યું છે. આજે કોતરો તળાવોની માફક દેખાઈ રહ્યાં છે. કોતરોમાં જે પાણી ભરાયું છે જે ખેડૂતોના કોઈ કામનું નથી.
છોટા ઉદેપુર જિલ્લાના ખેડૂતોનો પાક તૈયાર થઈ ગયો છે. પાણીની હાલ જરૂરિયાત છે. પાણીની માગને લઈને પાણી છોડવામાં આવ્યું છે, પણ ખેડૂતોના ખેતર સુધી પાણી ન પહોંચતા આજે તેમનો ઊભો પાક સૂકાઈ રહ્યો છે. ખેડૂતોને એક ચિંતા સતાવી રહી છે કે ક્યારે આ ઢાળિયા કેનલોમાં રિપેર થશે અને ક્યારે તેમને પાણી મળશે. જો સમયસર ખેડૂતોને પાણી નહિ મળે તો ચોક્કસ ખેડૂતોને માથે હાથ દઈને રોવાનો વારો આવશે.
