    20 people including three children were so far reported dead and several injured in twin-train derailment in Madhya Pradesh, even as rescue operations continued. Two trains were derailed on Tuesday night (August 4) while crossing a swollen Machak river near Harda in Madhya Pradesh. According to West Central Railway PRO Piyush Mathur seven coaches of Kamayani Express and three coaches plus the engine of Janata Express were derailed late last night as the base material on the tracks got washed away. 'Seven bogies of Kamayani Express and engine plus three coaches of Janata Express were derailed between Khirkiya and Bhirangi stations near Harda,' Mathur said. 'The mishap took place around 11.30pm on Tuesday as base material of the tracks got washed away in heavy rains. Meanwhile, rescue operations continued even as several passengers were feared trapped in water after coaches of both the train plunged into the river.

    At least 10 people have been killed in a train crash in Spain, according to reports.

    Spanish newspapers said carriages derailed as the train approached a station in the city of Santiago de Compostela, a popular place of pilgrimage in the northwestern region of Galicia.

    One Spanish website, ABC.es, carried a picture showing several carriages which had rolled over at the side of the tracks, with flames and smoke seen rising from the front carriage.

    Bill Bond, a journalist in Spain, told Sky News there were reports of at least 50 injured people.

    The train was travelling from Madrid to the port city of Ferrol.

    It happened at about 8.40pm local time - 7.40pm UK time - on a bend a short distance from a scheduled stop in the city.

    The cause of the crash is not yet known.
