2017 സെപ്തംബറിലെ കണക്ക് പ്രകാരം ദക്ഷിണമേഖല ഡിവിഷന് കീഴില്‍ 311 ആളില്ലാ ലെവല്‍ ക്രോസ്സുകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഒരു വര്‍ഷം കൊണ്ട് ബദല്‍ മാര്‍ഗ്ഗങ്ങളിലൂടെ ഇവയെല്ലാം അടച്ചു പൂട്ടാനായിരുന്നു റെയില്‍ മന്ത്രി പീയുഷ് ഗോയലിന്‍റെ നിര്‍ദേശം. ഓവര്‍ ബ്രിഡ്ജുകളും, സബ് വേകളും നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചും. തിരക്ക് കുറഞ്ഞ ലെവല്‍ ക്രോസ്സുകള്‍ അടച്ചു പൂട്ടിയും, വഴി തിരിച്ചു വിട്ടും, ചിലയിടങ്ങളില്‍ ജീവനക്കാരെ നിയമിച്ചുമാണ് ഒരു വര്‍ഷം കൊണ്ട് മുഴുവന്‍ ആളില്ലാ ലെവല്‍ ക്രോസ്സുകളും റെയില്‍വേ അടപ്പിച്ചത്..
