ഹിന്ദു മഹാസഭയുടെ ദേശീയ സെക്രട്ടറി പൂജ ശകുന്‍ പാണ്ഡേയാണ് ഗാന്ധിവധം പുനരാവിഷ്‌കരിച്ചത്. ഗാന്ധിയുടെ പ്രതിരൂപത്തിലേക്ക് കളിത്തോക്കുപയോഗിച്ച് വെടിവെക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അവര്‍ ചെയ്തത്. സംഭവത്തിന്റെ വീഡിയോ ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ ടൈംസ് നൗ പുറത്തുവിട്ടു. . വെടിയേറ്റ് ഗാന്ധിയുടെ പ്രതിരൂപത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് രക്തം വരുന്നുവെന്ന രീതിയില്‍ ചുവന്ന ചായം താഴേക്ക് ഒഴുകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് ദൃശ്യങ്ങളില്‍ കാണാം.
ഉത്തര്‍പ്രദേശിലെ അലിഗഡിലാണ് രാജ്യത്തെ ഞെട്ടിച്ച സംഭവം റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തത്. ഗാന്ധിവധം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ഈ ക്രൂരമായ ആവിഷ്‌കാരം നടന്നത്. ഗാന്ധിയെ വധിച്ച നാഥുറാം വിനായക് ഗോഡ്‌സെയുടെ പ്രതിമയില്‍ പൂജ ശകുന്‍ പാണ്ഡെ ഇതിന് ശേഷം മാല അണിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പിന്നാലെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്കൊപ്പം മധുരം പങ്കിട്ടാണ് ഗാന്ധിവധം ഇവര്‍ ആഘോഷമാക്കിയത്.

ഇന്ത്യാ വിഭജനത്തിനും പാകിസ്താന്റെ പിറവിക്കും കാരണക്കാരന്‍ ഗാന്ധിയാണെന്നാണ് ഹിന്ദു മഹാസഭ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത്. 1948 ലാണ് ഹിന്ദു മഹാസഭാ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകനായിരുന്ന നാഥൂറാം വിനായക് ഗോഡ്‌സെ മഹാത്മ ഗാന്ധിയെ വെടിവെച്ച് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. കേസില്‍ നാഥൂറാം ഗോഡ്‌സെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സഹോദരന്‍ ഗോപാല്‍ ഗോഡ്‌സെയും അടക്കം അഞ്ചു പ്രതികളെയാണ് ശിക്ഷിച്ചത്. ഗോഡ്‌സെയെ 1949 നവംബര്‍ 15 ന് അംബാല ജയിലില്‍ വെച്ച് തൂക്കിലേറ്റി. ഗാന്ധിവധം പുനരാവിഷ്കരിച്ച ഹിന്ദു മഹാസഭ
