നിക്ഷേപിച്ചാൽ വൻതോതിൽ കാശ് മടക്കിക്കിട്ടുമെന്നു പാവപ്പെട്ടവരെ വിശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു കോടിക്കണക്കിനു രൂപ തട്ടിയെടുത്തു മുങ്ങി – ശാരദ ചിട്ടി തട്ടിപ്പിനെ ഒറ്റവാചകത്തിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാം.ചിട്ടികൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ട മാനദണ്ഡങ്ങൾ ഒന്നുപോലും പാലിക്കാതെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ മാർക്കറ്റ് റെഗുലേറ്ററായ സെബി (സെക്യൂരിറ്റീസ് ആൻഡ് എക്സ്ചേഞ്ച് ബോർഡ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ) 2009ൽ തന്നെ രംഗത്തെത്തിയിരുന്നു. 20,000–30,000 കോടി രൂപയാണ് ബംഗാളിലും അസമിലും ഒഡീഷയിലുമായി ഇങ്ങനെ തട്ടിയെടുത്തതെന്നാണ് ആരോപണം. 17 ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം പേരെയാണു തട്ടിപ്പു ബാധിച്ചത്. തുകയുടെ 22 മുതൽ 25% വരെ വർഷംതോറും തിരികെത്തരാമെന്ന ഉറപ്പിന്മേലായിരുന്നു ഇത്. പണമിടപാടു സ്‌ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ആയിരക്കണക്കിനു കോടികൾ വാങ്ങി.ഭരണത്തിലിരുന്ന തൃണമൂൽ കോൺഗ്രസിന്റെ പ്രമുഖ നേതാക്കൾ വരെ കമ്പനിയുടെ ഡയറക്ടർമാരായതോടെ ജനങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ കമ്പനിയുടെ വിശ്വാസ്യത വർധിച്ചു.എന്നാൽ 2013 ഏപ്രിലിൽ ചിട്ടി കമ്പനി പൊട്ടി. തൃണമൂല്‍ എംപിമാരും എംഎല്‍എമാരുമായ കുണാല്‍ ഘോഷ്, സഞ്ജയ് ബോസ്, സുദീപ് ബന്ദോപാദ്ധ്യായ, തപസ് പാല്‍, മദന്‍ മിത്ര എന്നിവരെ ചിട്ടി തട്ടിപ്പുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ അന്വേഷണ കമ്മിഷനെ നിയമിച്ചു. തീർത്തും ദരിദ്രമായ ചുറ്റുപാടിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന നിക്ഷേപകർ തകർന്നുപോകാതിരിക്കാൻ സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ 500 കോടി രൂപയുടെ ഫണ്ട് അനുവദിച്ചു.ചിട്ടി കമ്പനിയായി സ്ഥാപിച്ച് പിന്നീട് ബ്രാൻഡ് ബിൽഡിങ്ങിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ബംഗാൾ സിനിമയിലും പ്രാദേശിക ടിവി ചാനലുകളിലും പത്രമാധ്യമങ്ങളിലും കാര്യമായ നിക്ഷേപം നടത്തിയാണു ശാരദ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് വളർന്നത്.2013ൽ 988 കോടി രൂപയാണു മാധ്യമമേഖലയിൽ ശാരദ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് നിക്ഷേപിച്ചത്. എട്ടു പത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥരായി.
