Odisha's Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment Minister Pradeep Maharathy has resigned from his post.
However, the reason for his resignation is not known yet..

Former Minister and BJD leader Pradeep Maharathy arrested after attack on election flying squad
Acting on a tip-off about freebies like cash and alcohol being allegedly distributed at the farmhouse, a 15-member team led by an executive magistrate conducted the raid.
Former minister and BJD Pipili Assembly constituency candidate Pradeep Maharathy was arrested hours after members of the election flying squad and Static Surveillance Team came under attack while conducting a raid at his farmhouse at Hunkeipur village in Pipili late Sunday night.
Director General of Police Dr RP Sharma confirmed that Maharathy was arrested following a complaint in this regard.
Acting on a tip-off about freebies like cash and alcohol being allegedly distributed at the farmhouse, a 15-member team led by an executive magistrate conducted the raid. However, the officials were left startled as the supporters of Maharathy brutally thrashed them. Fearing for their lives, the 15 members left one car at the farmhouse and fled the spot in another vehicle. With the issue snowballing into a controversy, the former Minister was arrested by State Police.

A complaint against senior BJD leader and Odisha minister Pradeep Maharathy has been lodged at the Pipili police station in Puri district for his alleged objectionable remarks on women.
The Pipili-Delang Mahila Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lodged the complaint against Maharathy for his objectionable remarks on women.
“We have lodged a complaint against Maharathy and told the officer concerned to immediately act on the complaint. If the police fail to take action against the minister, we will stage mass agitation in Pipili and if necessary, we will lock up the police station,” coordinator of BJP Pipili-Delang Mahila Morcha, Gitanjali Mishra told media persons here.
She also demanded that Maharathy should be sacked from the ministry with immediate effect.
“We have accepted the complaint and start an investigation into the matter,” IIC of Pipili police station, Sarat Chandra Sahu said.
Earlier, Maharathy had said that during the visit of the Chief Minister, about 30,000 women will be gathered with one or two husbands, their children and kin on both sides of the stretch from Pipili to Satasankha to greet him.
The statement of Maharathy had sparked political protest in the state. The women wing of BJP had a scuffle with the police as they tried to barge into his official residence in the afternoon.
