Will Work To Make Odisha A Developed State: Aparajita Sarangi
Former Odisha-cadre IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi, who formally joined the BJP two days ago, on Thursday said that she dreams of a developed Odisha and work towards it.
“I am very excited to return to my home state. We will all work together to make Odisha a developed state. I have joined politics as I am overwhelmingly influenced by the modus operandi of the Prime Minister,” Aparajita told mediapersons on arriving at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, where she was given a rousing reception by senior party leaders and thousands of party workers.
Party sources said the former IAS officer will visit the Lingaraj Temple before leaving for the party office.
Aparajita had formally joined the BJP in the presence of party’s national president Amit Shah, senior BJP leader and Odisha in-charge, Arun Singh, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and president of the Odisha BJP unit Basanta Panda in New Delhi on November 27.
Briefing mediaperson soon after her joining, she had said that after serving as an IAS officer in different important capacities for over 24 years, she realized that politics is the best medium for serving the people.

Hours after halt, daily rituals begin at Puri Srimandir
Hours after a halt, the daily rituals of Lord Jagannath resumed at Srimandir, informed the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Pradipta Mohapatra here today.
The Jaya Vijay Dwar (door in sanctum sanctorum) was opened at the Jagannath Temple following discussion with the SJTA and servitors.
The devotees waiting for more than 13 hours outside the shrine will have darshan of the deities soon, Mohapatra said.
The general darshan at Srimandir had been halted today after a group of servitors and police personnel had a face-off over an entry of two devotees last evening.
The gates of the temple had remained closed triggering resentment among devotees.

The Pipili-Delang Mahila Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lodged the complaint against Maharathy for his objectionable remarks on women.
“We have lodged a complaint against Maharathy and told the officer concerned to immediately act on the complaint. If the police fail to take action against the minister, we will stage mass agitation in Pipili and if necessary, we will lock up the police station,” coordinator of BJP Pipili-Delang Mahila Morcha, Gitanjali Mishra told media persons here.
She also demanded that Maharathy should be sacked from the ministry with immediate effect.
“We have accepted the complaint and start an investigation into the matter,” IIC of Pipili police station, Sarat Chandra Sahu said.
Earlier, Maharathy had said that during the visit of the Chief Minister, about 30,000 women will be gathered with one or two husbands, their children and kin on both sides of the stretch from Pipili to Satasankha to greet him.
The statement of Maharathy had sparked political protest in the state. The women wing of BJP had a scuffle with the police as they tried to barge into his official residence in the afternoon.

BJP’s Aparajita Mohanty files nomination for Bhubaneswar (North) seat
Bhubaneswar: BJP MLA candidate and Odia actress Aparajita Mohanty on Wednesday filed her nomination papers for the upcoming elections from Bhubaneswar (North) assembly constituency.
Aparajita offered prayed at Shikharchandi temple at around 10 am today and took out a massive rally with nearly 10,000 supporters before filing her nomination papers.
She appealed to the residents of Bhubaneswar (North) to vote her in the forthcoming elections for the all-round development of the area.
Notably, about 500 supporters of BJP yesterday resigned from the saffron party en mass opposing candidature of Aparajita from Bhubaneswar (North) seat. They alleged that the party allotted ticket to Aparajita sidelining Jigyasu Panda who was working for the party at the grass-root level.
