15 साल का सूखा खत्म कर भारत ने जूनियर हॉकी वर्ल्ड कप का खिताब अपने नाम कर लिया है। भारत ने बेल्जियम को 2-1 करारी शिकस्त दे कर जूनियर हॉकी वर्ल्ड कप में जीत हांसिल की। लखनऊ के मेजर ध्यानचंद स्टेडियम में खेले गए खिताबी मुकाबले में भारत के लिए गुरजंत सिंह और सिमरनजीत सिंह ने एक-एक गोल किए। इस खिताब को जीतने के साथ ही भारत अपनी सरज़मी पर जितने वाला पहला देश बन गया है। इससे पहले भारत ने आखिरी बार 15 साल पहले जूनियर हॉकी वर्ल्डब कप जीता था, जिसमें भारत ने 2001 में अर्जेंटीना को हराया था। खिताब जीतने के बाद कप्तान हरजीत सिंह ने कहा- भारत ने दिखा दिया है कि उसकी हॉकी फिर ट्रैक पर आ गई है। इस दिन के लिए हम 2 साल से मेहनत कर रहे थे। वहीं बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन करने वाले में गुरजंत सिंह ‘मैन ऑफ द फाइनल’ बने। भारत की जीत पर पीएम मोदी ने सभी खिलाड़ियों को बधाई दी। वहीं केंद्रीय खेल मंत्री विजय गोयल ने जूनियर टीम को जीत की बधाई देते हुए कहा कि अब हॉकी के खेल में भी हम प्रगति कर रहे हैं। जूनियर हॉकी विश्व कप जीतने के मौके पर उन्होंने सभी खिलाड़ियों को 3-3 लाख रुपये इनाम की घोषणा की।

On the second day of the Hero Hockey Junior World Cup Pool A in India, with Belgium taking on Egypt. A slow first half but Belgium took control in the second and winning 5-0.
A tight first half and not to many chances by both teams the score was tied at the break 0-0, the best chance falling to Mathew COBBAERT just putting the ball wide.
Belgium finally made the break through 3 minutes into the second half Alexander HENDRICKX drag flick giving Belgium the lead.
Mathew COBBAERT doubled Belgium's lead a lovely strike after Wael NOURELDIN initials save.
The third goal game from Alexander HENDRICKX this second of the day, another drag flick put the Belgium's well in control of the match.
Good work from van Arthur DOREN allowed the captain Mathew COBBAERT to slot it in, an easy second for him, 4-0.

'Day 5 of the Men Junior's Hockey World Cup in Delhi and its Match 2 where we see Belgium v. Pakistan in this Pool A game. With final standings still very much in the air before this last game in the group, pace of play was immediately intense.
Pakistan seemed in a better frame of mind than in their initial matches and pushed Belgium back on their heels in the initial fifteen minutes of the match in the first half. 'Exciting quarter-final between European Champions Belgium, widely expected to do well in this Junior World Cup, and a French team that had only lost to them on an overtime golden goal in semi-finals of the European Cup.
After boisterous renditions of their national anthems, both teams were immediately in overdrive action. Belgium earned a penalty-corner with a video-referral in the 2nd minute of play but their soft option was wide of goal. Pieter Van Straaten had the first chance for France with a high backhand shot that was deflected by Arnaud Flamand in the Belgian goal.
Match was hotly contested, on the pitch and in the stands between the two sets of very vocal fans. France missed their first penalty-corner attempt but Victor Charlet was on target in the 15th minute to give the lead to Les Bleus.
Belgium immediately turned up the heat and France were under pressure. Gaetan Perez tied the match in the 29th minute and the Belgians had two opportunities to take the lead before the break, first on a penalty-corner then during a wide scramble in the goalmouth when the ball hit the crossbar with the French defense at a loss to realize where the ball had bounced back.

Belgium and Australia went head to head in a battle for 5th and 6th place on the final day of the Men's Hero Hockey Junior World Cup in India where Australia needed a shootout to win after a 2-2 draw in normal play.
The match started at a high tempo and Belgium made the breakthrough in the 25th minute when Maxime Plennevaux slotted the ball in the goal after Andrew Butturini in the Kookaburras' goal pushed it back three times in a mad goalmouth scramble.
Belgium had a slight edge on the proceedings in the fairly balanced period and walked into the break with a slim but deserved one-goal lead.
Australia came back strong in the second period, immediately pushing the Belgians on the back foot and levelling the score through William Gilmour in the 39th minute. The European Champions were unphased and regained their lead in the next minute with a superb backhand from Alexandre Vanlinthoudt that surprised Edward Chittleborough, in goal for the Kookaburras for this second period.
Australia intensified their pressure and forced a penalty-corner after overwhelming the Belgian defence. The initial shot was saved but Jeremy Hayward collected the rebound and slammed it in the goal.
Play became an intense tactical battle in midfield as both sides threw caution to the wind in the final minutes of play but the game was tied and the teams moved on to a shoot-out.competition.

2nd game of the Rabobank Hockey Men's World Cup and its Belgium taking on India in Men's Pool A.
Started off with both teams very even and both teams looking very strong to take the lead. It was Belgium who had the first real chance when Thomas Brlels shot was well saved by India's keeper Harjot Singh and India cleared there lines. Belgium however made their chances count and scored the first goal of the game when Brlels long shot was met by Arthur van Doran who tapped the ball in to put his Nation 1 goal up.
After the break is was pretty scrappy for both team but India showed that they where not going to let Belgium take the lead again and levelled the scores when Mandeep Singh tapped in the ball from Dharamavir Singh cross making the scores 1-1. And they made it 2-1 later on when Akashdeep Singh met a 23 metre cross into the box and scored against the run of play. Belgium however didn't let India's lead last long when they were awarded a Penalty Corner and were levelled again when Simon Gougnard tapped in Tom Boon's Penalty Corner levelling the scores 2-2. With scores even, both teams were looking to break the deadlock but it would the Belgium's who grabbed the last minute goal of the game when John-John Dohmen met a long ball and his shot went straight past the keeper sealing the win for Belgium.
