A British-era bridge across the Savitri River on the Mumbai-Goa highway collapsed late on Tuesday night. Two Mumbai-bound buses are among the dozen or so vehicles that are believed to have fallen into the flooded river.,Officials of the district administration and police rushed to the spot and restored traffic through a new bridge not far away. Three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), comprising of about 80 personnel including divers, have been pressed into rescue operations. Heavy rain in the area are slowing the rescue operations down.

A bridge collapsed on Mumbai-Goa highway near Raigad at around 2.00 am on Wednesday. The rescue operation is underway with a team of 50 NDRF men working for relief operations. So far no injuries have been reported, but reportedly two state buses that left Ratnagiri are missing. Raigad SP Suvez Haque said, 'All machinery at work,not in a position to comment on casualties. NDRF team has left from Pune and reaching shortly.'

क्लोंजिंग- फिलहाल बडे़ स्तर पर तलाशी अभियान चलाया जा रहा है और इस पूरे मामले पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने महाराष्ट्र के सीएम देवेंद्र फडणवीस से बात कर हरसंभव मदद का भरोसा दिया है।
