The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) interim CEO Hemang Amin, also the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is apparently ready with a full plan to host the remainder of the 14th edition of IPL in the UAE. Amin has two schedules for the rest of the matches to be hosted in the month of September and October in the year 2021.
The UAE and England Cricket Board (ECB) had already offered BCCI help to host the remaining matches keeping in mind India’s current situation of COVID-19 and that’s the reason Amin has drafted one schedule for England’s leg and the other one for the UAE. Now the BCCI will likely give its verdict by the time the board’s special general meeting (SGM) is held on May 29.
Amin’s preferred choice of country is the UAE and the interim CEO has asked the board to keep UAE as the preferred option in the meeting, Times of India reported.
Amin has also given logical reasoning behind it as he feels shifting to the UK will be a risky proposition because starting mid-September, the possibility of monsoon returning post the English summer is reasonably high. Hosting the IPL in UAE is likely less expensive compared to shelling out pounds in England.
Moreover, UAE is the tried and tested option as it has previously hosted some part of IPL in the year 2014 apart from a full-fledged one.
“One way or the other, BCCI should make a decision and work towards it. Things should not get stuck in decision-making paralysis and be left for the last moment. The sooner a call is taken, the better the preparations,” Amin said.

Jofra Archer, who recently returned to action in the County Championship 2021, has expressed his thoughts about the situation in India. The 26-year-old pacer was one of the star overseas players ahead of the IPL 2021, where he was going to play for Rajasthan Royals. Unfortunately, an injury ruled him out of the tournament completely.
Initially, it was reported that Archer will return to the tournament in the middle of the season, however, it was later revealed that he has been entirely ruled out of the 2021 edition. However, later the tournament got postponed indefinitely due to the pandemic. In the last few weeks, India has recorded more than 3 lakh cases every day.
“It’s terrible in India at the moment and to be honest if I did go to India, I probably would have been home early, anyway, but I think that’s just how it’s gone. I feel hopeful when if it does reschedule for this year, hopefully, I’ll be able to go again but it was a hard decision to not go to India,” Archer said in an interaction, uploaded by the Sussex club on their official Youtube channel.
During the same interaction, the pacer also expressed his desire to go to the IPL 2021, whenever it resumes. Rajasthan Royals and England all-rounder Ben Stokes was also ruled out of the IPL 2021. Archer also revealed that he doesn’t know if Stokes will be available when England starts their Test series against New Zealand.

he 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be resuming in the United Arab Emirates later this year. The BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla confirmed the news on Saturday soon after the Special General Meeting (SGM) of the board. This is not a surprise given the current situation in India and more so, there will reluctance among overseas players after what transpired earlier this month during the tournament.
The competition had to be postponed indefinitely due to the COVID cases inside the bio-secure bubble. Some of the foreign players also contracted the virus while Australian cricketers had to stay in Maldives with their government banning all entries from India including their own citizens.
However, BCCI, in its statement, has stated that the decision to play the IPL 2021 in the UAE has been taken keeping in mind the monsoon season in India during that period. “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year.
“The decision was taken at a Special General Meeting (SGM) held virtually, where members unanimously agreed to resume IPL,” the statement read.

BCCI Reveals The Venue And Timings For Remaining Matches Of IPL 2021 & More Cricket News
Sports video | 488 views
The BCCI has decided to stage remaining 31 matches of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE. The tournament had to be postponed after 29 matches following multiple COVID cases within the bubble. Earlier, it was reported that the board is looking at the three-week window from September 18 to October 10 to finish the season.
The decision was taken at the Special General Meeting (SGM) held on May 29. Accordingly, a BCCI delegation including President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah reached the UAE to finalise all the talks with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).
However, Jagran has now reported that the Indian board is planning to stretch the IPL 2021 season till October 18. This is being done to reduce the number of doubleheaders as players will suffer in the extreme heat of the UAE during the afternoon matches. BCCI is in discussion with the required officials for the same.
“We will get an extended window of 8 days and we will be able to reduce the doubleheaders. It is very hot in UAE and the cricketers might suffer due to this. So, the board is trying to keep less afternoon matches. If the final is played on 18 October, 8 doubleheaders matches will be played less. We are in talks regarding this with the Chairman of ECB and we are hopeful that our proposal will be accepted,” the official said.

BCCI Might Host IPL Final on 18th October to Avoid Do

he second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is set to get underway on September 19 and cricket fans worldwide must have marked their calendars. After all, IPL is arguably the most celebrated T20 competition across the globe. However, the participation of several foreign players is under dark clouds due to travel and quarantine restrictions. Notably, the high-voltage T20 World Cup will commence days after the conclusion of the Indian T20 league.
Hence, many cricket boards are skeptical of sending their players in IPL. Several England players were also expected to skip the remaining season. However, it is now learnt that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has received the green signal from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on the participation of English players. It happened due to the postponement of Bangladesh vs England white-ball series before the T20 World Cup.
For the unversed, Bangladesh was scheduled to host England in three ODIs and as many T20Is in September-October. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said the board is trying to reschedule the series after the T20 World Cup.
“Both the teams [Bangladesh and England] are playing a lot of cricket before the T20 World Cup, so we are discussing with the ECB whether the series can be hosted after the World Cup.

BCCI Confirms England Pla
Sports video | 242 views
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has currently put the proposed 10-team IPL plans on hold as of now. The Board was all set to launch two new teams in the year 2022 with a mega auction scheduled for the 15th season. However, the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has put those plans on hold as BCCI is currently keen on finishing the 2021 tournament, which was postponed indefinitely on May 04, 2021.
The IPL was running smoothly with 29 completed games before the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders was called off due to two players from the KKR camp testing positive for the virus. The two players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier breached the bio-bubble norms and came to the place without serving the quarantine period.
“Time is not right to even talk about the new IPL teams at this stage. We have to first decide the way forward on the suspended season and then only decisions can be taken on the new teams for IPL 2022. No discussion in this regard is happening at this stage in the BCCI,” the official was quoted as saying by InsideSport.
“We don’t see any moment on this before July. We can’t give any timelines at this stage. As I said, no discussion currently in this regard is taking place in BCCI for now,” he added.
Earlier, it was stated that the board wanted to get the two new teams finalized by this month to give the franchises enough time to prepare for the 2022 season. Those plans have now been pushed back, although it will conduct a mega player auction next year to give all the teams a fair chance at making their squad strong.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has notified the resumption date of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is set to start on September 19, with the final to be played on October 15.
This league’s 2021 edition was postponed on May 4 after multiple Covid-19 cases emerged inside the bio-bubble of four different camps across two cities, forcing the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council to suspend the season indefinitely.
Ever since then, the board has been tirelessly looking out for ways to resume the curtailed edition to avoid massive financial losses. A BCCI official confirmed the recent developments during the meeting of the BCCI and Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) officials, where three venues – Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi – have been zeroed in to complete the remaining 31 games.

IPL To Start On September 19 In UAE Confirms BCCI Official And More Cricket News
Sports video | 322 views
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has been aiming to start the much talked-about Women’s IPL next year and it has been reported that six teams are likely to take part in the tournament. Finally, BCCI secretary Jay Shah had recently confirmed that there will be a Women’s IPL taking place next year although details on it are yet to be announced. This will be a huge step in the development of women’s cricket in India as a lot of young and unheard women have come through the ranks with the help of tournaments like these.
BCCI had been conducting a Women’s T20 Challenge comprising of three teams until the Covid-19 emerged in 2020 and there has been a constant demand in the circuit to go one step forward and conduct a full-fledged Women’s IPL. The Hundred tournament in England and the Women’s Big Bash League have all gained a lot of popularity around the cricket fraternity and the Women’s IPL is expected to be a massive success as well.
A BCCI official had noted the preparations going on to form the structure for Women’s IPL next year and confirmed that six teams will participate in the tournament. He also added that the structure of the tournament is being worked upon and mentioned the things that will have to be processed in the meantime. He concluded that the board will announce officially once the matter is agreed upon in the AGM meeting.
“We have already started working on the plan as to how many teams we can have and what window is going to suit, because we have the men’s IPL as well. As of now, we can’t share many details but yes, we are really excited for this league. Some franchises have already shown interest and are very keen to be part of this tournament. We are planning to have 6 teams to start with. Our team is working on the auction process and other important aspects of the tournament,” a top BCCI top official told Sports Tak.
“As of now, everything is just on paper. It will take time to streamline everything as

The 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup, scheduled for October-November later this year, is set to take place at nine venues, namely Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dharamsala, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow. The final will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad- the world’s largest cricket stadium with a capacity in excess of one lakh.
After a lot of speculations, the Indian government has decided to grant visas to the Pakistan cricketers for the 2021 T20 World Cup. As per reports, Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), informed the Apex Council about the government’s decision.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given conditional approval for the Indian cricket teams, taking part in the Commonwealth Games and Olympics. On Friday, April 16, the Apex Council of the world’s richest cricket board said that it will allow the women’s and men’s teams to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics if the autonomy of the BCCI isn’t affected.

BCCI announces 9 venues for T20 World Cup 2021, T20 WC 2021 Final Venue decided & More Cricket News
Sports video | 9114 views
There are a lot of roadblocks for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the way of conducting the remaining matches of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The T20 extravaganza was suspended after just 29 matches as the bio-secure bubble was breached. The Indian board is now looking forward to conducting the league in the September-October window.
However, there is a big question mark over the availability of many overseas players. While the presence of the Australian players is highly uncertain, it is now learned that the English players may also not be available for the remainder of IPL 2021. The managing director of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Ashley Giles, has confirmed that they won’t be making any changes to England’s cricket calendar to accommodate IPL 2021.
“I’m not aware of anything official, any requests to shift anything. As far as we’re concerned and what we’re prepared for, the matches will be where they are. I’m not surprised there are all sorts of speculation. Everyone wants to get their cricket in. But we’ve not received anything official and we’re cracking on.
“We have a full schedule. If we go from the end of the fifth Test in September, we are set to leave for Bangladesh on September 19 or 20. We have a full schedule right through including Pakistan and wherever the T20 World Cup is,” Giles was quoted as saying in Times Now.
Further, the ECB director reckoned that some big players will be rested for the Bangladesh and Pakistan series. However, during that time, the players won’t be allowed to play cricket elsewhere as a break will be given to keep them fresh for the T20 World Cup and the Ashes.
“We are going to have to give some of these guys a break at some point. But the intention of giving guys a break for, say, Bangladesh, wouldn’t be for them to go and play cricket elsewhere,” Giles signed off.
