he second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is set to get underway on September 19 and cricket fans worldwide must have marked their calendars. After all, IPL is arguably the most celebrated T20 competition across the globe. However, the participation of several foreign players is under dark clouds due to travel and quarantine restrictions. Notably, the high-voltage T20 World Cup will commence days after the conclusion of the Indian T20 league.
Hence, many cricket boards are skeptical of sending their players in IPL. Several England players were also expected to skip the remaining season. However, it is now learnt that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has received the green signal from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on the participation of English players. It happened due to the postponement of Bangladesh vs England white-ball series before the T20 World Cup.
For the unversed, Bangladesh was scheduled to host England in three ODIs and as many T20Is in September-October. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said the board is trying to reschedule the series after the T20 World Cup.
“Both the teams [Bangladesh and England] are playing a lot of cricket before the T20 World Cup, so we are discussing with the ECB whether the series can be hosted after the World Cup.

BCCI Confirms England Pla
Sports video | 291 views
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) got a confirmation from the Cricket West Indies (CWI) regarding on advancement of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), by four days to accommodate the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is set to begin from September 19. After successfully finalizing the deal with the CWI, the BCCI are now set to talk with Cricket Australia (CA) and England Cricket Board (ECB) regarding the availability of foreign players for the second half of the league which will be staged in the UAE.
During the Special General Meeting (SGM) which had taken place on May 29, the BCCI were pondering over the thought to have a discussion with the boards, to make the players available from England and Australia for the eight-team tournament.
Now, with CWI agreeing to BCCI’s request, the board is confident of convincing CA and ECB to ensure foreign player participation for the reaming 31 games.
“Both IPL and CPL are important to CWI, to our cricketers and to fans. CWI’s role was to facilitate arrangements for a non-overlapping and smooth transition from one tournament to the next. Cricket administrators must collaborate if cricket is to survive the risks and costs of COVID-19,” Ricky Skerritt, the CWI President, told ESPNcricinfo.
BCCI trying to convince CA and ECB boards
The majority of the foreign players are from England and Australia, and if they give IPL a miss, then surely the eight teams will face a lot of problems. England and Australia have a packed calendar year with the former hosting Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India for the limited-overs series and Tests respectively. Apart from that, England are also set to host The Hundred tournament, which is starting on July 21.
Meanwhile, Australia are set to travel to West Indies and Bangladesh for a white-ball series. This makes it very difficult for the players from both teams to feature in the remaining IPL. On the other hand, if England and Australia players

n what can be called a major development, England and Australian players have been cleared to participate in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Cricket Australia (CA) and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have formally informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the same. It’s indeed a major boost for many franchises with England and Australian players being cornerstones of many teams.
For the unversed, the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will get underway days after the conclusion of this year’s IPL. Hence, many boards were expected to disallow their players from featuring in the Indian competition. Participation of several Aussie and England players was also under dark clouds. Nevertheless, national boards of both nations have given green light to their players and it would be interesting to see how the tournament pans out.
We have got a call from the IPL office and have been informed that the boards have no objection to their players’ participation. It is now up to the players,” Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings, was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz. “Our Australian and English players (Jason Behrendorff, Sam Curran, Moeen Ali) are available,” he added.

It is no brainer that even the overseas players always look forward to being a part of this high-profile T20 tournament. IPL 2021 UAE Leg: Replacements for Injured Players & Full Schedule of all 8 IPL Teams
Sports video | 318 views
The Indian Premier League 2021’s second phase is all set to begin on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates. After being shifted to the middle east, there were speculations on the way the tournament will be hosted. The last time around in 2020, the tournament was entirely played behind closed doors. However, for the second leg of 2021, there are some hopes of having crowds in.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer Arun Dhumal has suggested that the Indian board is trying to get crowds in. He also noted that the decision is with the UAE government and the board wouldn’t want to do anything that can compromise the safety of the players.
Recently, it was speculated that the UAE government will allow 60 percent crowds in the stadiums for the IPL 2021. It should also be noted that the country will host the ICC T20 World Cup right after the IPL is over. The good thing about the UAE at this moment is that several people are vaccinated, which increases the chances of the government to allow crowds.
“We are working on that and we are hoping that the UAE government will allow the crowd this time since everyone is vaccinated there. Let’s see what happens. Hopefully, fans will be allowed but not at the cost of players’ or peoples’ safety — that is more important. Rest is on the UAE government to decide,

BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal Confirms 10 Teams Part

The Indian Premier League since its inception has had several Australian players come and play important roles for the franchises. And even in 2021, there are a few teams that depend on Australian players’ presence. However, for the second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021, there is still uncertainty if we will see the Aussies at play.
Ever since the IPL 2021 was abruptly called off, there have been some reservations shown by many players and their respective boards for the second leg. However, when the tournament was strategically scheduled just right before the T20 World Cup, with both the tournament being hosted by the United Arab Emirates, the BCCI expected the players to come in.
The idea was that the boards won’t be reluctant to send their players for the high-profile tournament as it would act as a practice for the players. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) who had previously shown reluctance in allowing their players to go for the second leg have now agreed. In fact, their tour to Bangladesh, which was scheduled at the same time as the IPL, has now been postponed.
The BCCI has informed all the franchises that they will be in a place to inform them about the participation of the Aussie players only after August 10. The same report has also suggested that Cricket Australia (CA) has been in talks with Afghanistan and the West Indies in hope of having a T20I tri-series ahead of the World Cup, Cricbuzz reported.
The series was originally to be hosted by Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) in India. The series was supposed to be played in October. However, the ACB and Cricket West Indies (CWI) have not yet confirmed that they will be taking part in a series if it is organized by Cricket Australia. CWI has also confirmed its players will be available for the second leg of the IPL 2021.
The news of Australian players’ uncertainty in the IPL 2021 comes on the same day as New Zealand Cricket (NZC) confirmed that they

With a plethora of T20 cricket going around, even the second leg of IPL 2021 has resumed from September 19th. Much like the previous year, the franchises have already reached UAE earlier and are very much zestful for their remaining fixtures.
Perhaps the issue of the unavailability of certain overseas players has also got resolved as some teams have already fetched some captivating replacements. Overall, even the points table thus now indicates an electrifying second leg as supposedly the competition will become much more enigmatic as it advances.

IPL 2021 UAE Leg: Team-wise 3 Players To Watch Out For In The Tournament
Sports video | 356 views
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has notified the resumption date of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is set to start on September 19, with the final to be played on October 15.
This league’s 2021 edition was postponed on May 4 after multiple Covid-19 cases emerged inside the bio-bubble of four different camps across two cities, forcing the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council to suspend the season indefinitely.
Ever since then, the board has been tirelessly looking out for ways to resume the curtailed edition to avoid massive financial losses. A BCCI official confirmed the recent developments during the meeting of the BCCI and Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) officials, where three venues – Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi – have been zeroed in to complete the remaining 31 games.
