An inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof has revealed that there were 'recent traces' of heroin in her body, when it was found at her home in Kent. Police confirmed that the drug was 'likely' to have contributed to the 25-year-old mother's death. This comes after an inquest was opened and adjourned today. Peaches' body was found by her husband Tom Cohen on April 7 at the family's home. Police said they found no drug paraphernalia near her body when it was discovered, leading to speculation it could have been removed. The whereabouts of items used when smoking or injecting heroin is likely to be a focus of the on-going investigation. Just hours before she died, Peaches posted a picture on Twitter of her as a child with her mother. The results come as a tragic parallel to the death of Paula Yates, who died of a Heroin overdose in 2000, when Peaches was just ten. Peaches had previously spoken of never getting over her mother's death. A full inquest into the death of the model, TV presenter and journalist has now been adjourned until July 23rd. The mum-of-two died earlier this month and her autopsy results were inconclusive.
Toxicology tests can take weeks to process and the results were publicly revealed today.
Her inquest began at 2pm in Kent today.
Police found no evidence of drug paraphernalia in the home.
On April 7th, her husband Thomas Cohen entered their home in Kent thinking his wife may have been sleeping, the inquest heard.
He found her at the end of a bed in the spare bedroom of their home.
At 7:45am on Sunday, Peaches had a phone conversation with a friend and was the last known contact before her death.
Police found no evidence of drug use in their home.
On Saturday, she remained at home and was in contact with friends.
A toxicology test confirmed use of heroin - was 'likely' to have contributed to her death.
Her family were not present at the inquest.
Last night, the Geldof family would not comment on the reports.
'I cannot confirm anything as an inquest is taking place. The family have no statement,' a spokesperson for the Geldofs said.

Mourners gathered in a church in Davington, in Kent, on Monday, for the funeral of journalist and television presenter Peaches Geldof.
Her father, Sir Bob Geldof, will give a eulogy at the service, which is being held at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church, the same church where the funeral of her mother, Paula Yates, was held.
Models such as Kate Moss and Alexa Chung, DJ Nick Grimshaw and musician Jools Holland were among those attending the ceremony.
Geldof's body was found at the home she shared with her husband and their two young sons, Astala, 23 months, and 11-month-old Phaedra, last week.
The cause of death is currently unknown but it is being treated as a 'non-suspicious, unexplained sudden death'.
