ગુજરાતમાં દિવસેને દિવસે ધરતીપૂત્રોની પરિસ્થીતી જાણે વણસતી જાય છે તેવો ચિતાર સામે આવી રહ્યો છે. કારણ કે, હાલ તાજેતરમાં જ ગુજરાત વિધાનસભામાં મોટો ખુલાસો થયો છે. તેમાં બહાર આવ્યુ છે કે ગુજરાતમાં ખેતરોની જગ્યાએ ઔદ્યોગિક એકમો સ્થપાઇ ગયા છે, વધુ માહિતી પ્રમાણે એમ છે કે, વર્ષ 2016માં 1,25,62,784 ચોરસ મીટર ખેતીની જમીન NA માં તબદીલ કરવામાં આવી હતી. એવી જ રીતે વર્ષ 2017માં 10,60,795 ચોરસ મીટર ખેતીની જમીન ને બિન ખેતીમાં ટ્રાન્સફર કરવામાં આવી છે. સરકારે એમ પણ કહ્યું છે કે અમદાવાદમાં ખેતીની જમીન એનએ કરવાથી સરકારને 23,64,85,407 રૂપિયાની આવક થઇ છે. આ વાત તો માત્ર ગાંધીનગર અને અમદાવાદની જ છે જો આખા રાજ્યની વાત કરવામાં આવે તો આ આંક ખૂબ જ મોટો થઇ શકે છે. ત્યારે યક્ષ પ્રશ્ન એ થાય કે, ફળદ્રુપ એવી ગુજરાતની ધરા પર ધરતી પૂત્રોની આત્મહત્યાના કિસ્સાઓ વધી રહ્યા છે અને ઔદ્યોગિક ડેવલપમેન્ટ સતત થઇ રહ્યુ છે.
