Naureen (12) and Mehreen (6) where airlifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment after their entire family including parents and three brothers were killed as a shell hit their house in the forward area of Balakote in district Poonch today.

Terming cross-LoC trade a confidence building measure (CBM) of great significance for J&K, Minister for Roads & Buildings Naeem Akhtar today said it is a step that could pave the way for larger reconciliation in the region.
Naeem Akhtar, who is also the State Government spokesman, said Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has already made it clear that both the Centre and the State Governments are keen to continue the cross-LoC trade. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Thursday visited people injured in cross-border shelling and firing by Pakistan and enquired about their treatment at the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital and Super Speciality Hospital Jammu. She prayed for their early recovery while instructing the hospital staff to provide all possible medical facilities to the injured patients. She said if any grievously injured patient needs to be shifted outside the state for treatment, the government will bear the expenses.
