“As you all know we have no control on the international prices of oil which have gone up from 40 dollars per barrels 10 years ago, to 140 dollars per barrel today. You know that we import 80% of crude oil from which we make petrol, diesel, kerosene and cooking gas. We continue to subsidise kerosene which must be done. But we have been compelled and we have no option but to increase the prices of diesel and the cooking gas. In spite of these, UPA government is doing its best not to burden the people with more hardships. As we hold the responsibility as a Government at the Centre, the state government also has some responsibility. I want to ask the BJP government here why have not the government increase the limit of LPG cylinders to a family from 6 to 9. This is what our Congress government has done in the states ruled by us. Why has the Karnataka Government not reduced the VAT on diesel, just like our Congress led governments have done? So it is very easy to criticize others but what about you (the state government), what are you doing to reduce the hardships of your people? It is your (state government’s) responsibility as much as ours†said Sonia Gandhi.

Brooke Burke-Charvet is sharing her tips on aging gracefully and staying healthy now that she's beaten her thyroid cancer.
The 'Dancing With the Stars' co-host revealed her cancer diagnosis in early November through a video posted on her blog. She was diagnosed after 10 biopsies, she said. Burke-Charvet underwent surgery in early December and shared the news a week later that she was cancer-free. By January, she was exposing her surgery scar on 'Good Morning America.'
She said she beat her cancer by having a strong support system from her family and team and keeping a postiive attitude. And, at 41, the former Playboy model and mother of four is getting real about her health, diet and aging for Health magazine's cover.
'The 40s are a reality check. That's when some people are trying to look 25,' she told the mag. 'I would like to slow down my aging process, but I don't want to look like a pumpkin, all swollen! I don't want to fill every flaw in my face. A few? But you have to embrace Mother Nature a little. I'm a woman. I'm a wife. I'm a mother of four. I don't want to look like a 25-year-old anymore. I want to be my best healthy self.'

Brooke Burke-Charvet may be surrounded by youth as a Hollywood star and the co-host of “Dancing With the Stars,” but the 41-year-old mother of four says she has no desire to go back to her younger days.
“I don’t want to look like a 25-year-old anymore,” Burke-Charvet tells Health magazine. “I want to be my best, healthy self.”
Appearing as the magazine’s cover girl in its current issue, Burke-Charvet says that after surviving a battle with thyroid cancer, a few wrinkles on her face are the least of her worries.
Burke-Charvet first revealed she had thyroid cancer on Nov. 8 in a YouTube video titled, “Cancer. Me?” A tiny nodule on her thyroid, a butterfly-shaped gland at the front of her neck, was spotted during a routine physical. An initial biopsy was inconclusive, but follow-up tests revealed the lump was cancerous.
The star, married to actor David Charvet, underwent a thyroidectomy in December and, just days later, revealed on her blog that she was cancer-free.
