Speaking at the launch programme, the ARTO said that henceforth the applicants will get the licenses at their doorsteps through speed post which will ease the rush of visitors at MVD officers.
“The move will reduce the rush of applicants at ARTO office as after applying online sitting at their home, the applicant will have to come to the office only for the driving test.
He said delivery of driving licenses through speed post will also eradicate the practice of applying with fake address and name.
The staff of motor vehicle department, besides a large number of locals were present at the launch of the new mode of service.

JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Regional Transport Office Kathua on Tuesday started delivery of driving license through post to the applicants.
The occasion was marked by formal handing over of 50 driving licenses to Postal Department authorities for further delivery to the applicants through speed post.
Throwing light on newly added service for applicants, RTO Kathua informed that the Transport Department has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Postal Department to ensure quick and fast delivery of driving license at the doorsteps of the applicant.
He said RTO Kathua office has taken the instructions of Transport Commissioner on mission mode to achieve minimal footfall of applicants in RTO office as well as saving their valuable time.

Love Birds starring Prabhu Deva and Nagma. After accidentally meeting, Mridula (Nagma) and Arun (Prabhu Deva) fall in love. The young couple both come from affluent families, and so, to test whether they will be suited for a long term relationship, they both decide to live together for one year. However, a few months into their relationship, Arun passes away.
A devastated Mridula is unable to get over her loss, and before long starts seeing Arun in strange visions everywhere she goes. Her family eventually decide that relocating to another country might help Mridula move on, and so they send her to the UK. Once she arrives there, she meets Mano, a young man attracted to her. She ends up falling for Mano.
Mridula appears to be recovering from her loss. She informs her parents that things are getting better for her, she has met a new man, and that she is even planning to get married to him. However, in a sudden change of heart, Mridula runs away from home the next day, and breaks off her relationship with Mano. When she eventually does return home, her family realise Mridula has relapsed, and her visions of Arun have returned again.
