The dead body of a youth drowned in Gobind Sagar lake near Jyoripatan Ghat under Swarghat in Bilaspur was taken out from the lake by divers from BBMB Nangal on Wednesday morning in a half-an-hour search operation. Sachin Thakur's son Shyam Lal village, Patta Post Office, Kallar Tehsil, Sadar district, Bilaspur district, had drowned while taking bath in the lake, who had come for the marriage ceremony on Tuesday.

Due to dumping muck at many places in Gobindsagar Lake instead of the designated site, notices were given to the contractor four times, but due to no effect, now a heavy fine has been imposed. A proposal has been sent to the secretary of the pollution control board to impose the fine.
