Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) : A fine of Rs 29.25 lakh has been imposed on a contractor constructing a railway line tunnel by the Pollution Control Board for flouting the guidelines of the NGT. Due to dumping muck at many places in Gobindsagar Lake instead of the designated site, notices were given to the contractor four times, but due to no effect, now a heavy fine has been imposed. A proposal has been sent to the secretary of the pollution control board to impose the fine.
