1990ല്‍ വിയറ്റ്‌നാമിലെ ഒരു കര്‍ഷകനാണ് ഗുഹ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്
ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഗുഹയായ സണ്‍ ഡൂങ് ലെ ഗുഹാസൗന്ദര്യവും കാനന ഭംഗിയും ആരെയും മോഹിപ്പിക്കും.മദ്ധ്യ വിയറ്റ്‌നാമിലെ 'ക്വാങ് ബിന്‍ഹ്' പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ 'ഫോങ് നാ കി ബാങ്' ദേശീയ പാര്‍ക്കിന്റെ ഹൃദയഭാഗത്താണ് ഈ ഗുഹയുള്ളത്.1990ല്‍ വിയറ്റ്‌നാമിലെ ഒരു കര്‍ഷകനാണ് ഗുഹ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. കാട്ടിലൂടെ വെട്ടിയും തെളിച്ചും നടക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു കല്ലുപാളിയുടെ തുറന്ന ഭാഗം കണ്ടു . മുന്നോട്ട് നടന്നെങ്കിലും അകത്തു നിന്നും കാറ്റിന്റെ ശബ്ദവും നദിയൊഴുകുന്ന വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദവുമൊക്കെ കേട്ടപ്പോള്‍ പേടിച്ചു തിരിഞ്ഞു നടന്നു .ആയിടക്ക് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഗുഹാനിരീക്ഷകര്‍ ഗുഹകളന്വേഷിച്ച്‌ ഈ നാട്ടിലെത്തി.അവരോട് ദിവസങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുൻപ് കർഷകൻ താന്‍ കണ്ട ഗുഹയുടെ കാര്യം പറഞ്ഞു .എന്നാൽ കർഷകൻ വഴി മറന്നു പോയതിനാൽ അവർക്ക് അവിടെയെത്താൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല
പിന്നീട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം 2009ല്‍ അവരെല്ലാം ചേര്‍ന്ന് ആ ഗുഹയിലേക്ക് കയറി അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചു.അവിടെ കണ്ട കാഴ്ച്ചകള്‍ വിസ്മയിപ്പിക്കുന്നതായിരുന്നു.ഗുഹക്കുള്ളില്‍ മറ്റൊരു വിസ്മയ ലോകം തന്നെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.കാടും പുഴയും അരുവികളും മഞ്ഞും കാറ്റും വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടവും ഒക്കെച്ചേര്‍ന്ന ഒരു വിസ്മയ ലോകം. ശില്‍പ്പങ്ങള്‍ കടഞ്ഞ പോലെ കല്ലുപാളികള്‍,അരുവികള്‍. കാട്. കുന്ന്,മല ,ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുൻപുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജീവജാലങ്ങളുടെ ഫോസിലുകള്‍ വരെ കണ്ടെടുത്തു.അവരാ ഗുഹക്ക് 'Son Doong' എന്ന് പേരിട്ടു.എന്നുവെച്ചാല്‍ 'പര്‍വ്വതത്തിലെ അരുവി' ഗുഹ എന്നര്‍ത്ഥം.2013ല്‍ വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നു കൊടുത്ത ഗുഹ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഭൂമിയിലെ തന്നെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഗുഹയെന്നാണ് അറിയപെടുന്നത് .

വിയറ്റ്‌നാമില്‍ പലതരം ഗുഹകള്‍ കാണപ്പെടുന്നുവെങ്കിലും ഒട്ടുമിക്കവയും വെള്ളത്താല്‍ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ടവയാണ്. ജലാശയങ്ങളിലൂടെ വേണം അവിടേക്കു എത്താന്‍ തന്നെ .
മനോഹരമായാ രീതിയില്‍ മിനുക്കിതയ്യാറക്കിയ പടവുകളും നടപ്പാതയും സുഗമമായി നടന്നു കാണാനുള്ള അവസരവും പാരഡൈസ് കേവ് ഒരുക്കുന്നു. അകതലങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങി ചെല്ലുന്തോറും വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ അംശം നന്നേ കുറയും. അവസാന പടവില്‍ നിന്നും നോക്കിയാല്‍ ഗുഹാകവാടത്തിലെ ചെറിയ വെളിച്ചം മാത്രമേ കാണാന്‍ സാധിക്കു. നല്ല തണുപ്പും വെള്ളത്തുള്ളികള്‍ ഇറ്റിറ്റു വീഴുന്ന ശബ്ദവും സഞ്ചാരികളെ പുതിയൊരു ലോകത്തെത്തിച്ച പ്രതീതി ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. കോടാനുകോടി വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ കൊണ്ട് പ്രകൃതി തീര്‍ത്ത ശില്പ ചാതുര്യമാണ് ഇവിടെത്തെ പ്രധാന ആകര്‍ഷണം.
മുപ്പത്തൊന്നു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരമുള്ള ഈ ഗുഹക് ഉള്‍വശം സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് മുഉഴുവനായും തുറന്നു കൊടുത്തില്ല. 3കി മീ മാത്രമാണ് സഞ്ചരികല്കായി തുറന്നുകൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. നൂറു മീറ്റര്‍ ഉയരവും അതില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ വീതിയും ഉണ്ട് ഗുഹക്കു ഉള്‍വശം. ഒരു ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ ദേവാലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീതി ഇളവക്കുന്നതാണ് ഗുഹയുടെ അകത്തളങ്ങളിലെ കാഴ്ചകള്‍.

ജോര്‍ജിയായിലെ Abkhazia ലെ പടിഞ്ഞാറന്‍ Caucasus മല നിരകളിലാണ് ഭൂലോകത്തെ ഏറ്റവും ആഴമേറിയ ഗുഹ ആയ Krubera Cave സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. 2,197 m. ആഴമുള്ള ഗുഹ
രണ്ടായിരം മീറ്ററില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ആഴമുള്ള ലോകത്തിലെ ഏക ഗുഹ കൂടി ആണ് .ഈ ദൂരം സമുദ്ര നിരപ്പില്‍ നിന്നും താഴേക്കുള്ള ദൂരം അല്ല , മറിച്ച് ഗുഹാമുഖത്ത്‌ നിന്നും ഗുഹയുടെ അവസാനം വരെയുള്ള ലംബമായ നീളം ആണ് .
1000m മുകളില്‍ താഴ്ചയുള്ള മറ്റു അഞ്ചു ഗുഹകള്‍ കൂടി ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് ഉണ്ട്. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പില്‍ നിന്നും 2,256m ഉയരത്തിലാണ് Krubera Cave ന്റെ സ്ഥാനം. ഉക്രേനിയന്‍ സ്പീളിയോലോജിസ്റ്റ് ആയ Gennadiy Samokhin ആണ് 2012 ഇത്രയും താഴ്ചയില്‍ ചെന്ന് പര്യവേഷണം നടത്തി ലോക റെക്കോര്‍ഡ് ഇട്ടത് . (ഗുഹകളെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള പഠനത്തിന്റെ പേരാണ് Speleology). റഷ്യന്‍ ഭാഷയില്‍ ഈ ഗുഹക്ക് Voronya Cave എന്നും പേരുണ്ട് . അര്‍ഥം എന്താണെന്ന് വെച്ചാല്‍ കാക്കകളുടെ ഗുഹ ! . ഗുഹാമുഖത്ത്‌ കൂട് കൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് കാക്കകള്‍ ആണ് ഈ പേരിന് നിദാനം .
ഈ ഗുഹയുടെ ചില ശാഖകള്‍ അപ്പുറത്ത് കരിങ്കടല്‍ വരെ നീളും എന്നാണ് ചിലര്‍ കരുതുന്നത് .
ഉറവകളും , നദികളും , വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടങ്ങളും ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു വിചിത്രലോകമാണ് ഈ ഗുഹയുടെ ഉള്‍വശം ! പലയിടത്തും ജലം നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്ന ടണലുകള്‍ ആയ “sumps” ആണ് ഉള്ളത് . അതുവരെയും കയറില്‍ കെട്ടി തൂങ്ങി ഇറങ്ങുന്ന പര്യവേഷകര്‍ ഇത്തരം ടണലുകളില്‍ സ്കുബാ ഡൈവിംഗ് നടത്തിയാണ് അടുത്ത ടണലില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത് . 52 മീറ്റര്‍ ആഴത്തില്‍ വരെ വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്ന “sumps” കൃബേറാ ഗുഹയില്‍ ഉണ്ട് ! ഇത്തരം കുഴികള്‍ക്കും ചെറു ഗുഹകള്‍ക്കും ഇടയിലുള്ള ഇടുങ്ങിയ ഇടനാഴികളെ meanders എന്നാണ് വിളിക്കുന്നത്‌ . ചില meander നു ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരെ നീളം ഉണ്ടാവാം . മിക്കതിനും ഒരാള്‍ക്ക്‌ കഷ്ടിച്ച് ഞെരുകി മാത്രമേ പോകുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കൂ .
കൃബേറാ ഗുഹാമുഖത്ത്‌ കാക്കകള്‍ ആണ് നമ്മെ വരവേല്‍ക്കുന്നതെങ്കില്‍ അകത്ത് ചീവിടുകള്‍ ആണ് ഉള്ളത് (Catops cavicis) .

വടക്കന്‍ തായലന്റില്‍ വെളളം നിറഞ്ഞ ഗുഹയ്ക്കുള്ളില്‍ കുടുങ്ങിയ യൂത്ത് ഫുട്‌ബോള്‍ ടീമിനെ കണ്ടെത്താനുള്ള ശ്രമം എട്ടാം ദിവസവും തുടരുന്നു.
തായ്‌ലാന്റിലെ അണ്ടര്‍ 16 ടീം അംഗങ്ങളും പരിശീലകനും ഉള്‍പ്പടെ 12 പേരാണ് ചിയാംഗ് റായി പ്രവിശ്യയിലുള്ള താം ലുവാങ് ഗുഹയില്‍ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നത്. കനത്ത മഴയെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഗുഹയുടെ കവാടം അടഞ്ഞതോടെയാണ് ഇവര്‍ ഗുഹയ്ക്കുള്ളില്‍ കുടുങ്ങിയത്
ഇപ്പോഴും സ്ഥലത്ത് മഴ പെയ്യുന്നത് രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തെ ബാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. 10 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ നീളമുള്ളതാണ് ഗുഹ. ഗുഹയില്‍നിന്ന് വെള്ളം നീക്കംചെയ്ത് അകത്തുക്കടക്കാനുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍ പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.യു.എസ്. സൈനികസംഘം,ബ്രിട്ടനില്‍നിന്നുള്ള ഗുഹാവിദഗ്ധര്‍, തായ് നേവി, തുടങ്ങിയവരാണ് രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കുന്നത്.
ഗുഹയ്ക്ക് പുറത്ത് ടീമംഗങ്ങളുടെ സൈക്കിളും ബൂട്ടും കണ്ടെത്തിയതോടെയാണ് ഇവര്‍ ഗുഹയ്ക്കുള്ളില്‍ അകപ്പെട്ടെന്ന വിവരം അറിയുന്നത്.
ഭക്ഷണം, കുടിവെള്ളം, ഗുഹയുടെ ഭൂപടം,ഫോണ്‍,ലൈറ്റര്‍, എന്നിവ രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ ഗുഹയിലെ വിടവുകളിലൂടെ അകത്തേക്ക് ഇടുന്നുണ്ട്.ഫാക്ടറിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പുറംതള്ളുന്ന മലിനജലമാണ് ഗുഹയിലുള്ളത്. അതേസമയം ഈ വെള്ളം പമ്പ് ചെയ്ത് കളയാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയതായി അധികൃതര്‍ പറയുന്നു.
