ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും നീളമേറിയ കടല്‍പ്പാലത്തിന്റെ നിര്‍മ്മാണം ചൈനയില്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയായി. ചൈനയുടെ കീഴിലുള്ള പ്രത്യേക ഭരണമേഖലകളായ ഹോങ്കോങ്ങിനെയും മക്കാവുവിനെയും ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണു പാലം. ജൂലൈയില്‍ ഗതാഗതത്തിനു തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കും. 55 കിലോമീറ്ററാണ് ഈ ഭീമന്‍ പാലത്തിന്റെ നീളം. 2000 കോടി ഡോളര്‍ മുതല്‍മുടക്കില്‍ ഒന്‍പത് വര്‍ഷം കൊണ്ടാണ് പാലത്തിന്റ നിര്‍മ്മാണം. 2009 ലാണ് പാലത്തിന്റെ നിര്‍മ്മാണം ആരംഭിച്ചത്. പാലം തുറക്കുന്നതോടെ ഹോങ്കോങ് മക്കാവു യാത്രാ സമയം പകുതിയായി കുറയും.

പാലത്തെ കുറിച്ചുളള വാര്‍ത്തകള്‍ നേരത്തെ പുറത്തുവന്നിരുന്നെങ്കിലും പണി ഏകദേശം പൂര്‍ത്തിയായ പാലം എങ്ങനെയാരുമെന്ന വീഡിയോ ആണിപ്പോല്‍ വൈറലാകുന്നത്.
ഇത്രയും നീളമുള്ള ഈ പാലത്തിനിടയില്‍ കൃത്രിമമായ രണ്ടു ദ്വീപുകളും ചൈന ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കടലിനടിയില്‍കൂടി രണ്ട് തുരങ്കങ്ങള്‍ സൃഷ്ടിച്ച് ഈ രണ്ടു ദ്വീപുകളെയും തമ്മില്‍ പരസ്പരം ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുമുണ്ട്.ഏകദേശം 60 ഈഫില്‍ ടവറുകള്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള അത്രയും സ്റ്റീല്‍ വേണ്ടി വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട് ഇവയുടെ നിര്‍മ്മാണത്തിന്. ഈ ഡിസംബറോടെ പാലത്തിന്റെ അവസാന പണികളും പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകും. പാലത്തിന് 120 വര്‍ഷത്തെ ആയുസ്സാണ് നിര്‍മ്മാതാക്കള്‍ അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നത്.
