    മാമ വിന്നിയെന്ന് സ്‌നേഹത്തോടെ ആളുകള്‍ വിളിച്ചിരുന്ന പോരാട്ടങ്ങളുടെയും വിവാദങ്ങളുടെയും ആഴങ്ങളിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോയ അവസ്മരീണിയ ജീവിത്തിനുടമയായ കരുത്തുള്ളൊരമ്മ.38 വര്‍ഷം നീണ്ട വിന്നിയുടെയും മണ്ടേലയുടെയും ദാമ്പത്യജീവിത്തില്‍ 27 വര്‍ഷവും അവര്‍ ഒറ്റക്കായിരുന്നു.ദക്ഷിണാഫ്‌രിക്കില്‍ വെള്ളക്കാരുടെ സര്‍ക്കാരിനോട് പോരാടി മണ്ടേല ജയിലിലും വിന്നി പുറത്തും.1969ല്‍ വിന്നിയും ജയിലിലായി.1977ല്‍ബ്രാന്‍ഡ് ഫോര്‍ട്ട് ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്ക് നാടുകടത്തപ്പെട്ടുു.

    The award is bestowed on leaders from Asia for their selfless service to society. It is named after former Philippine president Ramon Magsaysay.
    40-year-old Krishna, who was born in Chennai, has been conferred the award for 'ensuring social inclusiveness in culture.'
