Story of thousands of women who were never supported by their in-laws, nor by the own family. Women who and no access to money, and always lived in ignorance within the four walls of their home. Women who never had any identity.
Then one day, their lives changed. The Congress led-UPA launched Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojna which enabled its 92,883 Women Self Help Groups to avail loans worth INR 2.61 Billion from various banks.
Women who got associated with this scheme found themselves financially independent. It helped them to come out of the four walls of their homes and earn a living.

In this fair organized near Hamirpur DC office, self-help groups from different areas of Hamirpur district have made arrangements for applying mehndi to women in addition to various products used in Karva Chauth.
