दरअसल, बीएस धनोआ ने एयर चीफ मार्शल का कार्यभार 31 दिसंबर 2016 में संभाला था और चीफ होने के साथ साथ चीफ ऑफ़ स्टाफ कमिटी के चेयरमैन भी थे, जो की उन्हें इंडियन मिलिट्री का सबसे सीनियर मोस्ट अफसर बनाती है, लेकिन अब इस पोस्ट से भी रिटायर हो चुके है और सारा कार्यभार आर्मी चीफ बिपिन रावत संभालेंगे।धनोआका जन्म 7 सितम्बर 1957 को झारखण्ड के देवघर शहर में हुआ था। इनके पिता सारायण सिंह जो की एक IAS अधिकारी थे और इनके दादा कैप्टेन संत सिंह ब्रिटिश इंडियन आर्मी की तरफ से द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध में एक कैप्टेन के रूप में शामिल रहे थे। जिससे ये तो तय था की देशभक्ति इनके खून में हैऔर जनसेवा अपने पूर्वजों से विरासत में लेकर आए है। बीएस धनोआ ने देहरादून के राष्ट्रीय इंडियन मिलिट्री कॉलेज में पढ़ाई की है और खुद की कड़ी मेहनत से पुणे की नेशनल डिफेन्स अकैडमी से ग्रेजुएट हुए और यही से इनके शानदर मिलिट्री करियर की शुरुआत हुई। बीएस धनोआ को जून 1978 में इंडियन एयर फाॅर्स की फाइटर स्ट्रीम में नियुक्त किया गया। जहा उन्होंने कई अलग अलग तरह के फइटर्स को उड़ाया और वे एक क्वालिफाइड फ्लाइंग इंस्ट्रक्टर भी बने और इन्होने अपने स्पेक्ट्रम में SEPECAT Jaguar, Kiran, MiG-29, MIG-21, Sukhoi Su-30 जैसे फइटर्स को उड़ाया है और इनके 37 साल के करियर में इन्हे कई महत्वपूर्ण जगहों पर नियुक्त किया गया....
Actually, BS Dhanoa took the charge of Air Chief Marshal on 31 December 2016 and was the Chief as well as the Chairman of the Chief of Staff Committee, which makes him the most senior most officer of Indian Military, but now also from this post Retired and the entire assignment will be handled by Army Chief Bipin Rawat. Dhanoka was born on 7 September 1957 in Deoghar city of Jharkhand. His father Sarayan Singh who was an IAS officer and his grandfather Captain Sant Singh had been involved in World War II as a captain on behalf of the British Indian Army. Due to which it was decided that patriotism is in their blood and they have brought public service from their ancestors. BS Dhan.

सरकार ने नए सेना अध्यक्ष की घोषणा कर दी है। जनरल बिपिन रावत को अगला थलसेना और एयर मार्शल बीएस धनोवा को वायुसेना अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है। वहीं इस नियुक्ति को लेकर एक नया विवाद शुरु हो गया। कांग्रेस ने सरकार पर सवाल उठाते हुए कहा कि नियुक्ति में वरिष्ठता का ख्याल क्यों नहीं रखा गया। कांग्रेस के प्रवक्ता मनीष तिवारी ने दावा किया है कि लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल रावत तीसरे नहीं, बल्कि चौथे वरिष्ठ हैं। वहीं सीपीआई पोलित ब्यूरो के सदस्य मोहम्मद सलीम ने कहा कि 'आमतौर पर हम सशस्त्र बलों से संबंधित मुद्दों पर टिप्पणी कभी नहीं करते, लेकिन ऐसा लगता है कि सरकार भारत के प्रमुख संस्थानों के नियमों को बदलने की कोशिश कर रही। बता दें कि भारतीय थलसेना प्रमुख जनरल दलबीर सिंह सुहाग और वायुसेना प्रमुख एयर चीफ मार्शल अरुप राहा, दोनों ही 31 दिसंबर को सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे हैं। जिसके चलते सरकार ने नए सेना अध्यक्षों की नियुक्ति की है। 11वीं गोरखा राइफल्स की पांचवीं बटालियन में जनवरी 1979 में कमीशन लेने वाले ले. जनरल रावत का करियर उपलब्धियों भरा रहा है। बिपिन रावत अति विशिष्ट सेवा मेडल, युद्ध सेवा मेडल, सेना मेडल और विशिष्ट सेवा मेडल जैसे कई सम्मान से अलंकृत किए गए हैं। बिपिन रावत कश्मीर हालात के एक्सपर्ट माने जाते हैं वहीं आपको बता दें नए सेना प्रमुख के पिता भी सेना में डिप्टी चीफ रह चुके हैं। वहीं झारखंड कैडर के आईपीएस अधिकारी राजीव जैन को गुप्तचर ब्यूरो (आईबी) का नया प्रमुख नियुक्त किया गया जबकि अनिल धस्माना बाह्य गुप्तचर एजेंसी रॉ का नेतृत्व करेंगे.
