Sundernagar (Himachal Pradesh) : The KMC company, working from Gutkar to Pandoh in Mandi district, has been exploiting local contractors and people in the name of employment ever since they are working on fourlane. This is said by Jitendra Chandel, President of Himachal Pradesh Fourlane Association Union. He said that first every person, whether he is a laborer or a contractor, has been paid a tenth part of his work, but this time the contractors whose work has been finalized for 6 months. The company is not paying them and was saying that they were not paid by NHAI. Payment will be made in one lump sum when it occurs. He said that contractors who have been finalized should be paid in full rather than partial. He said that two weeks ago the company had received payment of about 2.5 crore from NHAI. But the company did not give a single rupee to anyone. He cautioned that now local contractors and unions have no other option but to agitate.
