വിദേശ മലയാളികള്‍ക്ക് നിയമസഹായം നല്‍കാൻ കേരള സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നോര്‍ക്ക റൂട്ട്‌സ് വഴി ‘നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന ''പ്രവാസി നിയമസഹായ'' പദ്ധതിക്ക് [ PLAC ] തുടക്കമായി . പ്രവാസിമലയാളികള്‍ അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കുന്ന നിയമപ്രശ്‌നങ്ങളില്‍ ആവശ്യമായ സഹായസഹകരണങ്ങള്‍ നല്‍കുകയാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം.ജോലി സംബന്ധമായവ, പാസ്‌പോര്‍ട്ട്, വിസ, മറ്റ് സാമൂഹ്യപ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ ഇവയെല്ലാം ഈ സഹായപദ്ധതിയുടെ പരിധിയില്‍ വരും. ശിക്ഷ, ജയില്‍വാസം, ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ആശുപത്രി ചികിത്സ ഇവയും ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ജി.സി.സി രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പുറമെ ഇറാക്കിലും മദ്ധ്യപൂര്‍വേഷ്യന്‍ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും അധിവസി ക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കാണ് ഈ സഹായം ലഭിക്കുന്നത്.അതാത് രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ പ്രവാസി മലയാളി സാംസ്‌കാരിക സംഘടനകളുമായി സഹകരിച്ചാണ് പ്രവാസി നിയമ സഹായ സെല്ലിന് രൂപം കൊടുക്കുന്നത്.
ഇതിനായി ലീഗല്‍ ലെയ്‌സണ്‍ ഓഫീസർ നിയമനത്തിനുള്ള അപേക്ഷ ക്ഷണിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് .കേരളത്തില്‍ കുറഞ്ഞത് 2 വര്‍ഷം അഭിഭാഷകവൃത്തി ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളവരും (സ്ത്രീ/പുരുഷന്‍) അതാത് രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിയമപ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്ത അനുഭവം ഉള്ളവരുമായവര്‍ക്കാണ് ലീഗല്‍ ലെയ്‌സണ്‍ ഓഫീസറായി നിയമനം ലഭിക്കാന്‍ അര്‍ഹതയുള്ളത്. പ്രവാസി മലയാളികളുടെ നിയമപരമായ കരുതല്‍ നടപടിയാണ് ഇതിലൂടെ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്.
