Rupee's free fall continues as it sinks to an all time low of over 68 against the U.S dollar.
Stock markets tracked the rupee weakness and opened in the red. Sensex plunged 400 points. Early in the day, it made a light recovery but continues to fluctuate.
While Nifty is trading over 100 points lower. Gold prices too reacted to the sinking rupee. Recorded an all time high of over 34 thousand rupees per 10 gms. The opposition meanwhile is quick to lash out at the government and demanded the resignation of the UPA Government.

रुपए में लगातार कमजोरी का रुख जारी है और बाजार खुलने के साथ ही रुपया डॉलर के मुकाबले 21 पैसे टूटकर नौ महीने के सबसे निचले स्तर पर रहा। एक अमेरिकी डॉलर के मुकाबले भारतीय रुपया 11 पैसे कमजोर होकर 68.36 पर खुला है। जबकि, मंगलवार को रुपया 10 पैसे की गिरावट के साथ बंद हुआ था। हालांकि माना जा रहा है कि घरेलू शेयर बाजारों के ऊंचे स्तर पर खुलने से रुपये में यह गिरावट संभल जाएगी। मुद्रा कारोबारियों के अनुसार निर्यातकों की ओर से अमेरिकी डॉलर की भारी मांग, विदेशी कोषों द्वारा की जा रही लगातार निकासी और विदेशी मुद्राओं के मुकाबले डॉलर में मजबूती से भी रुपया गिरा है। वहीं बताया जा रहा है कि अमेरिकी डॉलर 13 साल की ऊंचाई पर है औऱ शेयर बाजारों में गिरावट से रुपए पर दबाव बढ़ गया है। इस महीने के दौरान रुपए में करीब 3.75 फीसदी की कमजोरी आ चुकी है। एक्सपर्ट्स कहते है कि ट्रंप सरकार आने वाले दिनों में चुनावी वादों के मुताबिक टैक्स में कटौती के साथ-साथ सरकारी खर्च में कटौती करने का फरमान दे सकती है। इन दोनों कटौती के असर से डॉलर मजबूत होने की उम्मीद पर बीते दो दिनों से मुद्रा बाजार में डॉलर सबकी पसंद बना हुआ है। लिहाजा अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में डॉलर की मांग तेज है। इसके साथ ही कहा जा रहा है कि रुपए पर पहले से ही डिमॉनेटाइजेशन का दबाव है। अब डॉलर की मजबूती रुपये के लिए दोहरी चोट साबित हो रही है।
