The Shoba Yatra which started from Raghu Nath Ji Temple here after passing through various markets culminated at in the Temple premises later. An impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out on the eve of Guru Ravi Dass Jyanti in Jammu today.
Attired in colorful costumes, the devotees were singing bhajans and dancing to the tune of beating of drums in the praise of Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj. Over 200 jhankis depicting the different aspects of Guru Ravi Dass Ji’s spiritual life were the part of the Shoba Yatra.

JAMMU: An impressive Nagar Kirtan was taken out on the eve of 350th birth anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh here, today.
Thousands of devout Sikhs drawn from different parts of Jammu city and its outskirts participated in the Nagar Kirtan which was taken out from Gurudwara Yadgar, Chand Nagar. The birth anniversary of Guru Maharaj is falling on January 5 and traditionally every year a Nagar Kirtan is taken out in the city by Sikh devotees some days prior to it.
Organized by District Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (DGPC), the Nagar Kirtan passed via Vinayak Bazar, Dogra Chowk, Bikram Chowk, Asia Crossing, Green Belt Gandhi Nagar, Hospital road, Gandhi Nagar, Gole Market, Shiva Ji Chowk, Khalsa Chowk and culminated at Gurudwara Singh Sabha Nanak Nagar with Ardas by Sikh Sangat.

It was organized by Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC) along with Jammu and Kashmir Dharamarth Trust. The Shobha Yatra started at 1530 hours from Shri Ranbireshwar Ji Mandir and passed from main bazars viz. JAMMU: The Sikh community members took out an impressive `Nagar- Kirtan’ in connection with the 351st Parkash Purav of Guru Gobind Singhji in the city of temples here today.
A large number of Sikh community members from various parts of Jammu city and other parts of district Jammu assembled at Gurdwara, Guru Nanak Devji at Lower Gumat (Chand Nagar) in the morning and started Nagar Kirtan/ Shobha Yatra. A highly decorated chariot was created by using an open vehicle where the holy Guru Granth Sahib was placed. It was fitted with loud speakers and several religious personalities of the Sikh community were leading the grand Shobha Yatra and chanting Gurvani Path.
The programme was organised by the State Gurdwara Parbadhank Board led by TS Wazir and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu.
