On 28 June, 2015 a Mumbai local train overshot the Platform at Churchgate station, one of the busiest stations on Indian Railways. The harrowing moment was captured by the CCTV cameras installed at the station. Initial reports say five people were injured - including the motorman.
The incident happened on a Virar - Churchgate fast local.
The motorman is being investigated as he claimed that the brakes of the local train had failed. Railway officials however claim that it is almost impossible for the brakes to fail on a Mumbai local.
