Namun demikian Gubernur Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo menilai penguatan rupiah masih undervalue. Menurut Perry, kondisi undervalue mengartikan rupiah masih bisa bergerak menguat lebih tinggi.
'Alhamdulillah menguat, tapi kami masih memandang level rupiah sekarang ini masih undervalue (di bawah fundamental),' kata Perry di Kawasan Senayan, Jakarta Selatan, Selasa (27/11/2018).
Ferry menyebut penguatan rupiah seiring kembali masuknya aliran modal asing. Akselerasi kebijakan pendalaman pasar uang, kondusifnya ekonomi domestik, serta meredanya ketegangan AS dan Tiongkok juga jadi pendorong penguatan rupiah.
Stabilitas nilai tukar rupiah juga didukung oleh posisi cadangan devisa yang cukup tinggi sebesar 115,2 miliar dolar AS pada akhir Oktober 2018.
