Direktorat Narkoba Bareskrim Polri gagalkan penyelundupan 31,6 kilogram sabu dari Malaysia untuk perayaan Tahun Baru di Jakarta. Pengiriman dilakukan tiga kurir narkoba jaringan Internasional via jalur darat dengan truk. Sabu tersebut diletakkan di bawah kardus mi instan cup dalam kemasan teh Thailand.
Ketiganya kemudian ditangkap di dua lokasi berbeda. Pelaku yang kali pertama ditangkap adalah MD alias AG. MD diciduk saat berada di Cilegon, Banten.
Direktur Narkoba Mabes Polri Brigjen Pol Eko Danianto mengatakan MD berperan sebagai pengawal dua pelaku lainnya yang membawa truk di Lampung Timur yakni H dan YJ.
Selain menangkap tiga pelaku dan barang bukti sabu, Polisi juga menyita golok dan empat buah telepon seluler.
