Presiden Perintahkan Radin Inten II Jadi Bandara Internasional

Presiden Joko Widodo menginstruksikan Menteri Perhubungan Budi Karya Sumadi menetapkan Bandara Radin Inten II di Bandar Lampung menjadi bandara internasional. Instruksi ini diberikan setelah Jokowi melihat langsung kondisi bandara.

Jokowi meminta rute penerbangan dari dan ke Singapura dan Malaysia segera dibuka. Setelah bandara berubah statusnya menjadi internasional diyakini pertumbuhan ekonomi Lampung semakin baik.

“Setelah saya melihat fasilitas yang ada di bandara ini baik, terminalnya yang sudah sangat memadai, dan siap juga runway-nya, juga apron untuk parkir pesawatnya sangat siap,' ujar Jokowi di Bandara Radin Inten II, Lampung.

'Sehingga tadi pagi saya memerintahkan kepada Menteri perhubungan untuk segera bandara Raden Intan kedua ini ditetapkan sebagai bandara internasional,' jelasnya.

Sementara itu Pemprov Lampung optimistis dijadikannya Radin Inten II sebagai bandara internasional semakin meningkatkan pariwisata. Pasalnya saat ini pertumbuhan pariwisata di Lampung masuk tiga besar nasional dan memiliki 60 persen potensi wisata yang bisa diraih dan dimaksimalkan melalui penetapan status bandara internasional.
