Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, broke his silence on the recent comments by former UPA minister Jayanthi Natarajan, who recently quit the party, by saying that he indeed asked her to protect environment as well as to protect interests of the poor and the Adivasis. Listing out the major promises in the Congress manifesto, the Congress Vice President said, 'We want every poor in Delhi has a house. We want to give right to shelter to all here. If we form a Congress government in Delhi, within 2 years everyone would have their own houses to live in. Delhi is a city where everyone has a dream.. Within a week of forming a government, we will end the contract system and make all contract labours permanent. In 6 months we will reduce power rates to Rs 1.50 (per unit) and make water cheaper'.
