പ്രളയത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ചില ജില്ലകളില്‍ എലിപ്പനി റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പ് ചികിത്സാ പ്രോട്ടോകോള്‍ പുറത്തിറക്കി.

രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന് പോയവരും സന്നദ്ധ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും നിര്‍ബന്ധമായും പ്രതിരോധ ഗുളിക കഴിച്ചിരിക്കണം
രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തില്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെട്ടവരും സന്നദ്ധ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും വീട് വൃത്തിയാക്കാന്‍ പോയവരും നിര്‍ബന്ധമായും ആഴ്ചയില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ എലിപ്പനിയ്ക്കുള്ള പ്രതിരോധ ഗുളികയായ 200 എംജി ഡോക്‌സിസൈക്ലിന്‍ കഴിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. സാധാരണയായി 100 എംജിയിലുള്ള ഡോക്‌സിസൈക്ലിനാണുള്ളത്. അതിനാല്‍ തന്നെ 100 എംജിയിലുള്ള രണ്ട് ഗുളികകള്‍ ഒരുമിച്ച് കഴിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ആഴ്ച ഗുളിക കഴിച്ചവര്‍ ഈ ആഴ്ചയും കഴിക്കണം.പ്രളയബാധിത പ്രദേശത്ത് സന്നദ്ധ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളില്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെട്ടതിന് ശേഷം ഡോക്ടര്‍മാരെ കാണാന്‍ കഴിയാത്താവര്‍ എത്രയും പെട്ടെന്ന് ആശുപത്രിയിലെത്തി പ്രതിരോധ മരുന്ന് കഴിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
