    എണ്‍പതാം പിറന്നാളിന് കേക്ക് മുറിച്ച് ആനമുത്തശ്ശി. ഹൈദരാബാദിലെ നെഹ്‌റു സുവോളജിലാണ് വ്യതസ്ത പിറന്നാള്‍ ആഘോഷം നടന്നത് .ഹൈദരാബാദിലെ നെഹ്‌റു സുവോളജി പാര്‍ക്കിലെ എണ്‍പതുകാരിയായ റാണി എന്ന ആനയുടെ പിറന്നാളാണ് കേക്ക് മുറിച്ച്‌ ആഘോഷിച്ചത്.
    ശനിയാഴ്ചയാണ് റാണിക്ക് എണ്‍പതു വയസ് തികഞ്ഞത്. സുവോളജിക്കല്‍ പാര്‍ക്ക് ആരംഭിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ഹൈദരാബാദ് നൈസാം സമ്മാനിച്ചതാണ് ഈ ആനയെ. ആനയുടെ പിറന്നാളിനൊപ്പം പാര്‍ക്കിന്റെ 55-ാം വാര്‍ഷികവും ആഘോഷിച്ചു. 1963 ലാണ് നെഹ്‌റു സുവോളജിക്കല്‍ പാര്‍ക്ക് പൊതുജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നു കൊടുത്തത്. പിറന്നാളാഘോഷത്തിനായി വലിയൊരു പ്ലം കേക്കാണ് ജീവനക്കാര്‍ വാങ്ങിയത്. ആനയെ പൂമാലകളും റിബണുകളും അണിയിച്ച് അലങ്കരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. റാണിക്ക് കേക്കില്‍ വലിയ താല്‍പര്യമില്ലാത്തതു കാരണം പഴവും ശര്‍ക്കരയും നല്‍കിയാണ് സന്തോഷിപ്പിച്ചത്.പാര്‍ക്കിലെ ഏറ്റവും അനുസരണയുള്ള മൃഗമാണ് ഈ ആനയെന്ന് ജീവനക്കാര്‍ പറയുന്നു. ആകെ അഞ്ച് ആനകളാണ് ഇവിടെയുള്ളത്. ഭക്ഷണസമയത്ത് എല്ലാ ആനകള്‍ക്കും ഭക്ഷണം നല്‍കിയാല്‍ മാത്രമേ റാണി ഭക്ഷിക്കാറുള്ളുവെന്ന് ജീവനക്കാര്‍ പറയുന്നു. ഇവിടത്തെ മൃഗശാലയിലെ എല്ലാ മൃഗങ്ങളുടേയും പിറന്നാള്‍ ആഘോഷിക്കാറുണ്ട്. മൃഗങ്ങളെ പാര്‍ക്കിലെത്തിച്ച ദിവസമാണ് പിറന്നാളായി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. എല്ലാ മൃഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ആ ദിവസം വിശിഷ്ടഭക്ഷണം നല്‍കാറുണ്ട്.
