ગુજરાત હાઇકોર્ટ દ્વારા સમગ્ર રાજ્યમાં ટ્રાફિકની સમસ્યાને લઈને હાલમાં જ રાજ્ય સરકારને ફટકાર લગાવવામાં આવી હતી. તેના ભાગરૂપે રાજ્યની તમામ મહાનગરપાલિકાઓ અને નગરપાલિકાઓ દ્વારા શહેરોમાં થતા ગેરકાયદેસર પાર્કિંગ ઉપરાંત લારી ગલ્લાવાળા ઉપર તવાઈ આવી છે. આ સંજોગોમાં કેટલાક ઠેકાણે ગેરકાયદેસર દબાણો હટાવવાની કામગીરીનો ઉગ્ર વિરોધ થઈ રહ્યો છે. આવો જ એક અનોખો વિરોધ પાટણમાં શુક્રવારે બનવા પામ્યો છે.
પાટણમાં લારી ગલ્લાધારકો નગરપાલિકા માટે માથાનો દુઃખાવો બન્યા છે. ત્યારે નગરપાલિકા દ્વારા કનડગત અને વૈકલ્પિક વ્યવસ્થા કરવાની માગને લઈ લારી ધારકોએ પાલિકા તંત્ર સામે બાંયો ચડાવી છે. જેમને કોંગ્રેસના ધારાસભ્ય કિરીટ પટેલે પણ સમર્થન આપ્યું છે. ત્યારે કલેક્ટરને આવેદનપત્ર આપ્યા બાદ શુક્રવારે ધારાસભ્ય સહિત લારી ધારકોએ અર્ધનગ્ન હાલતમાં રેલી યોજી પાલિકા કચેરી પહોંચ્યા હતા અને કચેરીમાં તોડફોડ કરી રોષ વ્યક્ત કર્યો હતો.
